Just bought another LS1.....high Mileage
I have owned 3 LS1's
99 Vette M6
02 Firehawk M6
02 T/A M6
So I am not a complete stranger to LS1 land.
I just bought a 99 Hardtop Z28 A4 with 127,000 miles(Mostly Highway)from my Uncle. The car is bone stock, and never been to the strip.
It has always been taken to the dealer for service, and its 100k miles service was done.
Options: Power Windows/Locks
CD player
Cruise Control
Question I have is,since I have never owned a LS1 with such high mileage, all three of my LS1's combined still had less miles.
Anything I should look out for?
Last question, what is this Z28 worth in TRW.
Thanks in advance.

Mine has right at 120K now. I have changed plugs which I would have done anyway since I have nitrous now. Wires too, but I know guys with over 100K that still have stock wires. I still have the same coil packs and they are working just fine. I am still on the stock timing chain also! When the cam went in there was no slack in the chain and that was 15K miles ago. Brake pads and rotors might be in your future if they haven't been replaced yet. Service price depends on your area, but I would guess around $200. Not sure.

It is a can of pure petroleum distillate that you get at PepeBoys or Advanced, do the search thing and find out the exact way to use it. The BLUF is, it cleans all the carbon and gunk out of the engine components and will really give you a true idea of baseline for the engine performance.

Fun, yes. Especially once you get past the concern about all the white smoke and sputtering. I have done both my 02' Z28 w/28K that I got gently used and my '01 S-10 Blazer with 78K on it.
For an initial baseline, I don't think you can beat what it does for the money. Sure beats going to a dealer and paying 250$ for the same thing.

My TA has 137,400 on it. Seafoam is a great product! I have been using it for years. I also have every bolt on on my TA. I wouldn't worry about anything, I took my TA on a 300 mile road trip last day and drive it 5 days out of the week while my SS just gathers dust. Just drive it and enjoy

Sea foam is the **** for any motor. I currently drive a Dodge Hemi and Sea Foamed the hell out of it and gained a lot more throttle response and 2 mpg. Not only that but it's easy to use. All you do is unhook your brake booster line when the car is running, pour 1/3 of the can into a cup and use the brake booster line to suck it up. The car will stall out and then you let it sit for about 12 minutes. After that, you start the car (it will take 2 or more trys) and then rev it (white smoke will come out of the exhaust, this is the sea foam) to redline until all the white smoke is gone. After that, drive it at 3,000+ rpms for about 10 miles. After that, get your oil changed and pour the rest of the can into the gas tank and it will clean the fuel pump. You'll be good to go.
