Default First Z28, QUESTION!

Hey guys, just bought a 98' Z28, red metallic cheyenne, an amazing color. 86,000 miles, great condition. Question i have is, it will not go into WOT when i stomp it, only when i stomp it 90% of the way will it go into WOT. Ive heard this happens a lot, i tried searching but couldnt find anything. Could someone send me a link or a page tht describes how to adjust cable (isnt this wut i need to do?) thanks a lot.. I post pics tomorrow!

so does it still pull at all? or just cut off? I would check the cable on the TB and see if that is slippin off or somethin, or it might be a senor or something

I'm kinda confussed, what exactly happens if you just put the pedal to the floor?

So in other words you have a little less power with the pedal to the floor, and full power comes on before the pedal hits the floor? Maybe somebody tried to do the throttle body bump stop mod and screwed it up. Or the piece that hits the bumpstop got bent. You might need a scan tool to test this.

He means that it wont downshift to 1st when he floors it at speeds like 35mph, 2nd at 80mph, ect. A4's have dead spots...just my guess??

Heres my guess. He is an auto and at 100% throttle it isn't downshifting until he lifts a bit. I don't know what could cause this, but fun guessing game?

OK we looked at my throttle body, and theres only ONE cable, instead of the TWO that I think are supposed to go there. Would tht be the problem? Cuz aren't there supposed to be two cables?

You should only have two cables if you don't have traction control, but do have cruise control.

*PROBLEM FIXED* So i go to Straightline Performance, down the road from me. Only to find out, tht the kid recognized THIS car as the same car (original red metallic cheyenne color, and noticeable borla exhaust w/ badges) they put a BRAND NEW LS1 in a couple months ago!! Boy did tht make my day. Turns out he blow a rocker arm or something. But they couldnt figure out wut was wrong after test driving my car, theyt new immediately it didnt downshift. They then tuned my engine and put in a transmission file tune thing tht they use on all their cars. BOOM, its perfect, sooo fast. It shifts a lot harder and now i chirp second with an automatic. All for $90. BTW, anyone kno how the computer could get messed up like tht?
