ok guys i have $1200 bucks and i really wanna buy an exhaust for my car. i have a 98 trans am. i wanna put the pacesetter longtubes to a custom X-pipe to turn downs. i think the set up cost about $800. but if i just put the headers on with a cutout then i would have a good amount of money left over.

What would you guys recomend doing???

any input would be helpful.

Thanks

heads and cam, if you have bolt-ons. If not then I would go with intake and full exhaust. If you already have all of the above then it might be time to think about the 90mm throttle body. If you have all that then I'm with Bandit4, HOOKERS AND STRIPPERS ???!

maybe a cam for 1200 but heads thats not gonna happen.as far as boltons headers and exhaust will be the wayu you would want to go.headers will net you the most power of all the boltons.be sure to get a tune as well

Headers, duals (listen to someone else who has them and ride in their car first before you go for these), Lid and LS6 Intake

For under a grand you can put together a nice full exhaust setup with coated pacesetters, ORY, and moderately priced catback or dumped duals of your choice. Mattering on how much you have left over, get a lid if you dont have one and/or LS6 intake manifold. That's how I'd go about it.

we need to know your current mods.. headers and a tune will net you the most gains though, also pick up a lid while you're at it. they are only a hundred bucks new.

yeah, I would save the tune though if you plan on doing heads and cam. No sense in paying for tuning twice.

do you mean a superchip tuner based system or a custom dyno tune? i was talking about a custom dyno tune. i said you shouldnt do that because they will have to tune the car for the new heads and cam anyway.

I would put Pacesetter LT's and y pipe, then find you a SLP Loudmouth exhuast system, and a pro 5.0 shifter.

Cheaper than modding the car. I knew I should have taken up crack instead.
