Default Intake Manifold

I was looking for an intake manifold. Ive looked at a lot and found one that I have never heard of before. It is the BBK SSI intake manifold. It says it gives between 15 and 25hp and is 75mm, so it will fit on the stock throttle body. Its about $570. Sounds like a good deal. Do any of you know if this is any good?

no. yes its a good manifold, but an LS6 intake will net you the same results and you wont have problems with heat soak.

Dont bother with the BBK,weildan etc... they are know to heat soak. Get a regular LS6 intake off an 01-02 car. http://www.dagostinoracing.com has one. I doubt its gonna give u 25hp increase, but deffinatley a noticible increase w/ a pp TB

LSX intakes are good, but IMO, the 78MM version is a waste of $$$, because you get nearly the same results with an LS6 intke. however the 90MM version is better, but only good on heavily modded H/C cars.otherswise, you wont see much of an improvement over the LS6.

in short, on a bolt on/mild cam car: LS6 intake.
wild cam/head car with full boltons: FAST 90/NW90

heat soak is crap, the only people who really see a differance if any is the guys who specifically 1/4. and don't go with FAST, just wasting your money if your not gonna run N20. send an LS6 from an 01-02 to TPIS and they'll port it for you to 90MM and you wont have to spend close to $900 on just an intake. good luck

thats the biggest load of **** ive heard in a while. how are you wasting your money if your not going nitrous? the FAST 90/90 combo will flow better than any ported LS6 intake anyone can come up with. otherwise, a **** ton of people wouldnt have it. theres a reason you dont see as many metal intakes on these cars as you do plastic. plastic is tried and true. ill never put a metal intake on my car. it gets hot enough as it is.

yes, sheet metal, that is completly different from the BBK/Wiend intakes that are in question here.

so what, ive hotlapped my car before and actully ran faster. when you got a metal intake under the metal hood of an f-body, i can garuntee the BBK will be hotter than an LS6 intake.

maybe a few degrees if any. think about it the air isnt in the intake long enough to get any warmer.and metal is metal by the way.there was a thread were some of us argued this **** for days and nobody could prove anything.
my car picked up alot of top end power from the weiand as well.im a nitrous person and have seen alot of plastic manifolds blown to bits.the fast has burst panels but look at the price.show me a video of a metal intake car on a dyno heatsoaking and losing power and ill agree with you till then your arguing is pointless.
