Default My Dad trumped me, He got an LS1

I found a 98 SS at a local car dealer here in Iowa (not easy to do) and my Dad jumped on it. He had a 91 RS with 165k on, he was the original owner and sold it for $3200 today. The car needed some motor work, not to mention a new clutch and starter. It was in great shape though. Anyway, the SS has 14,056 miles on it . They listed it at 17,900 but ouright they said 16,600. He was going to trade his 91 in on it and the price for the SS was going to be 13,600. So we made a couple hundred bucks and probably can still get the price of the SS down some. He picks it up tomorrow, but they still think we are trading his car in on it. So we will see about the final price now. The SS has borla exhaust, and some sort of lid. It's like brand new. Now he has the faster car but hopefully not for long. He wont mod it at all, hes not into that. So what do you all think of the price? Does that sound decent for an SS with extremely low miles? Just thought I would share that we are adding an LS1 to the family.

Price seems high since its a '98. I personally wouldnt pay more the $14-15k for it. Unless its the CLEANEST 98 ive ever seen. Does it have all the options?(leather, power everything, etc.)

I think its a steal because of the low miles. I paid 18 for my 2002 t/a with 34 on the clock

that price sounds kind of high for a '98 but with that mileage its not too bad, I would prob try and get it for around $14,500

Yeah the 91 needs motor work. The SS is very clean. Around here you can't find them any cheaper than that with low miles. My Dad doesn't want to travel a great distance to find a car either. We are going to try to get them to lower the price some now since we are not trading a car in on it. The car would have definately sold quick if we didn't jump on it. This is the first one I have seen at a car lot in Iowa in quite some time.

so lets see them, I think 15k-16k is a fair price I see dealers trying to sell for almost 18-20k here with around 10k miles on them

not bad I picked up an 02 z28 with all options with 33k on it for 13,200. I would say talk them down some more.
