Question Critique my Setup...

I recently bought a 99 Camaro SS (auto with 2.73's) that is completely stock, never had ANY mods. This is a list of the things that I plan on doing first. I want opinions if this will be a good set of first mods...

tci ssf 3,500 stall
Pace Setter Quick Trip Long tube Headers coated with 3" Y pipe
Magnaflow cat-back or ture duals
3.23 gears

Anything you would change or improve on?

You will need a transmission cooler FYI for the stall. Also a nice tune after you get the headers.

As far as the setup goes idk if its good or not but I like the items on the setup.

you DEFINITELY want a higher gearing as opposed to 3.23s. you'll want at least 3.42s. 3.73s are nice i hear with still good drive-ability on the highway. OR you can go with 4.11s, which still many people run. however, some people say that's too short for a DD, and yet others say its awesome for a DD because the insane TQ. but you'll definitely want to go higher gearing than 3.23. and while you're at it, you might as well get a stronger rear for your LONG list of future mods

If you want to keep you car quiet the magnaflow is good, however I think its too quiet. You will definatly want a taller gear like 3.73 or you will notice the stall more daily driving, like a slipping clutch. If it has no mods you could really use a lid, some subframes and a set of LCA's make a good difference and are in-expensive. Good luck.

Great start, that's just like what mine was. I'm moving to 3.42s or 3.73s here soon from my 2.73s though. I did not see a Lid either, do that and the other free mods. Good tune for gears/headers and get rid of the EGR and AIR crap if you can. Also throw a LS6 intake manifold on there if you have the money. After all this....get some ET Radials and fly.

The only thing I would change is getting stainless headers, but other than that I like it.

lts, 3500 stall, 3.73/4.11 gears, 125 n2o, drag radials, and a tune and you have a runner as long as the rear end doesnt break.

I don't know much about all the free mods out there, but I have done some reading on the subject. I did the free ram air mod on my 99 z28, the filter get dirty faster and I can hear the intake a little more when I get on the gas. It seems that 9 out of 10 free mods don't really do anything for you. If you want lot's of power, it's going to cost you some $$$$.
