install pricing?
A cam with accessories can be anywhere from $500-$1,500. IMO any more then $1,000 and you should ask them to use some KY first
I was quoted $900 for a heads and cam install at New Era Performance here in western NY. If you find a good performance shop that does a lot of work on LS1's they'll have no problem installing a cam in under 10 hours. Shop around and don't be afraid to travel. I would rather drive 200 miles to a sponsor that quotes me $600 then let some local guy charge me $1,200.
The money saved can go towards the dyno tune you'll need and that's another $400-$500.

$150 for TC install (3 hours).
He's $50/hour
I would suggest finding a local installer in your area that does work out of their garage, that's who I've got doing my stuff. VERY knowledgable and knows his ****. If you find somebody ask for references of vehicles that he/she worked on and give them a shout!
TQ converter $250-300
Cam install with cam, springs, Pushrods stc., $1,500-$2,000. Parts, labor, tune

My last Mod:
Cam : $375
Stall : $350
Springs : $250
Pushrods: $100
Tranny Cooler : $60
Cam Install kit: $55 (gaskets)
Fluids : $36
Tune : $580 (OUCH!!!! He took 7 hours @ $82/hour) Now, before you flame on the tune he's lifetime add ons and any changes. This was a speed density tune NOT a dyno tune. He tuned it for drivability, WOT timing.
Labor = $500 (install of ALL parts).
Total cost was $2300, and that was mostly due to the tune being more than had originally budgeted for.
Car drives much better, ran a 7.91 1/8 mile @ 90MPH and a 1.8 sec 60 foot. Dyno numbers not availble, I probably won't even bother because the TC is going to throw the numbers off.
