is my gas gauge right?
it was on "e" and when i filled it up only took 12.6 gal. I got a 98 Ws6 with cat-back only in my sig. I thought the tank held 15.5gal. Also i went 195mi doing all city driving. Shouldn't I be getting more than 15.3 mpg if i drive like a civilized person and never race?

The gauge is a little pessimistic. You shouldnt run it down close to empty anyway. About your gas mileage, yeah it's not great, but not uncommon for all city driving. The way the EPA tests vehicles for city driving is not typical of most cities. Like if you have to sit at the same light for multiple cycles, or in stop and go traffic, you may very well get worse than advertised milage. You could also try changing your plugs/fuel filter/air filter, etc. to see if that helps.

thanks for the reply MikeG, was just curious to see if something was wrong. I'm about to do a nice tune-up to the car since i just got it a couple months ago, just haven't had any time. I'm gonna seafoam it, oil change, transmission fluid change... We'll see what happens.

What are your shift points and do you skip gears? I get about 16 mpg in the city and 21mpg (4.10 gears are a killer) on the highway. I have a lot of gas taking mods too so...you should be much higher thatn 15 if you do in fact drive conservative. BTW, I don't skip gears either, typical driving 1-6th gear....2000rpms, 2200, 2200, 2000, 1800, cruise at 1600 in 6th. These are guesses since I'm not logging the actual shift points.
