Default Same question, but still bugging me!?

Why does my car feel slow! I mean, it's an LS1!!! Granted its an A4 with 2.73's. But my 0-60 is almost ALWAYS in the upper 5's lower 6's! Is tht normal? EVen with 2.73's? please help becuz i feel like something is wrong with my car. I see 0-100 videos online of mustang GT's tht seem faster? Does any of this seem normal, or do u think something is wrong!? I have a 0-70 video i posted before, if anyone wants to see it again. Please help!

You might wanna check that ses light out and see what that is. Also some 98's knock sensors are messed up and automatically retard timing. Since it is tuned, I will assume that your tuner would have noticed that.

take it to the track and see what it runs. That is a much better way to see if it is running right then to record a video of you going up to 70.

thats about what I'd expect a 2.73 car to run. Gear, gear and gear! That will wake it up.

I dunno these guys say its normal but to tell you the truth my 98 formula with the 2.73s seems faster all it has really is a lid and a tune nothing big at all. Were you on the floor or did you lean into it becuase my car would also smoke the hell out of the tires through second if I just floored it, even worse when i had the stock goodyears on it but it's better now.

sounds like you had some hard tires.....when i was bolt ons and 373s only i could get the car to leave at wot with minimal tire spin....if i wanted to spin i could blow them off through 3 gears...273s i had to make it spin with the same tires......now with the stall its e/t streets......

FYI.

2.73 cars only run about .2 seconds slower than a 3.23 car, all else being the same. If the car feels dreadfully slow compared to a 3.23 car, then something is wrong besides the gears.

My stock 2.73 car feels a little weak at a low speed roll punch, but once it gets into the power band, it feels every bit as strong as my 3.23 cars have.

I think too many people assume that the car will be a dog compared to 3.23s under all circumstances with 2.73s. That's just simply not true. It will feel slower in low speed/low rpm punch situations, and won't launch as strong as a 3.23 car, but once you get going the diffenrece is minimal.

there are a few good points to 2.73s, my buds cammed 3.23 beats me by 4 tenthes. Before the cam he was only about 1.5 cars ahead. I like my 2.73s, I can get a 1st gear kickdown at 40, really surprises people next to you when you squeel the tires at 40...110mph is only 3000rpm, plus i get over 31 mpg on the highway. I think I'll stick with then and see how well a stall does with them. Sorry to get so far off topic but everyone is always saying change your gears, change your gears.

Looking for big gains? Stall before gears, that's what I say every time. 2.73s will do just fine once you've got a decent stall. And when you're cruising in lock-up, the 2.73s will still give you that nice low rpm for constant speed.
