i can take a pic of my stock ones on a 98 camaro if youd like. i thought the newer ones(2000+) were better flowing than the older ones.

the only way to tell if it is a ls1 or ls6 from the intake still being in the car, if stock a ls1 has a pipe going into the manifold right behind the throttle body. the ls6 do no have that pipe. the 98 to some 2000 (depending on when produced) came with ls1 intakes, while the 2000 to 2002 or corvette intakes are ls6. if the manifold is off the car a ls1 has a wave to the bottom where as the ls6 has a flat bottom.

I think the earlier years (98-99) had a welded two piece steel exhaust manifold. The later years (00+) had a cast iron manifold I believe. I may be a bit off on the years, Im not for sure...but my 01 has cast iron and my brothers 99 has the two piece steel.

^^ What he said. And the difference between the 00 and 01-02 was the EGR hole on the passenger side.

the ls1 is on the left, note the plastic makes x's between the runners, the ls6 does not

Good catch he never said if he meant the exhaust or intake manifold.
