Default What do you all think?

I am looking at a 2001 trans am ws6 ram air with 45000 miles on it. The price is set at 19000 but prolly can get it down to 18k. It's mods are a Torqer v2 cam, longtube headers, eibach lowering springs, short throw shifter and Borla exhaust. Sounds frekkin sweet and I really want it! what do you all think? Should I get it?

considering the color, thats a reasonably good deal, if its a MINT 45K car, its well worth it(well IMO, given the CURRENT market prices)

If it's what you want get him down as low as he will go and buy it. Don't let price keep you from what you want. (within reason) Don't go bankrupt but you know what I mean.

If you are looking to spend $18-19k for an F-body, put it towards a C5 if you can afford it.

I think you would be getting ripped off IMO. Get on craigslist and find the nearest city to you. I'm sure you can find someone selling a car like that for 17k that you could talk down a bit. I would pass on it. Goodluck!

Default West Texas

I noticed you're from West Texas.... I'm assuming you're buying it from Beaton's. They seem to always overprice their vehicles by a few thousand. I am in Amarillo, and I got my TA from Dallas for just under 11k, with 70k miles. It had cam, headers, exhaust, etc and a buddy of mine just bought a WS6 TA from Beatons and paid 20k for it. Seems a little pricey to me. Nice lookin car though. Good luck in your decision making. I would try to talk em down to 15-16k.

i think that's just too much

i got my z over 2 years ago with the mileage in my sig, and it was spotless, it only cost me 16.5k....and that was from a dealership

nowadays, for that car, i'd maybe pay 14k - 15k, and only if it was SUPER clean inside & out

Too much....

I got my SS with 42k miles on it for a tad over 11k. I'd say a max of 16k. Hold off and see what else you can find and that is all you see that you want go for it but try your hardest to talk them down.

Yeah It's from beaton's haha. I live in Canyon. I know it's a bit pricey, but it's super clean. It's not even Beaton's, it's a friends and he's the one that has the price on it. They have another exact same color, but with less mods for 16k, 50000 miles. I'm not sure which one to get. I think I might talk him down to about 17 or 17.5k. I'll wait on it for a while since there's not too much demand right now in winter. Thanks for all your opinions!!!

Its an ok price i think. Keep looking if you want to wait. I waited 2 years and this is what i got(link), as is in pictures. Full custom suspension. and only 18k miles for $18,000 great condition. So if you can wait you may find a better deal.

Not an awful price but a modded car will usually sell for less than a stock one (in most cases). I would say if your looking to drop that much coin check out a C5 like someone else mentioned or if you have no qualms about buying a modded car check out the for sale section and the texas section for cars for sale in your area. I have seen some sick, heavily modded cars with all the right parts go for less than that.

That is a bit high. You are getting close to the 20k range, so I would go for a GTO. It's doable for about 20k.

I think its too much as well. But, that is my favorite color, so I'd go up to 15k if its in tip top shape.

Thanks for all your thoughts guys! I really appreciate it! I'm really debating on whether to get it or not. They have one exactly the same with a lot less mods for 16000. But I'll be getting my check soon so I'll have to make a decision in about 2 to 3 weeks. I know it's not going anywhere at that price. I'll probably look around a bit more, and if I don't find what I like I'll just make a decision on one of those two. I'm just so anxious to get in a LS1 already! They have been my dream cars forever!!
