Exclamation New Trans A & Questions

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1999-...QQcmdZViewItem

Ad is over, just using it for reference since I bought it.

Ok I just picked this trans am up today and have a few questions about what yall think of the deal and the problems.

Know Issues thus far:

Headlight Motor- Passenger side headlight goes up 3/4 of way then makes knocking sounds(5secs), vibrating and I must manually raise rest of way(not hitting nething), when it goes down it does then same thing after it goes all the way down.

Hi Beam-1 sealed beam out(problem get HID)

Back light for left side steering wheel controls - What kind of bulb(194?) pop the button off to get to it?

Transmission Grinding- Grinds if I put in first quickly at a stop, slide it slowly and its good. Grinds 4th ever now and then. Grinds others random/rarely. Could he slave cylinder not be disengaging the clutch all the way? Need new tranny? Used new rebuilt?

Driver Side speakers- Big door and 1 rear I think, used

12v appliance and cig lighter-Fuse?

TCS Mounting Plate loose- looks liek a clip of bottom broke off, used

Ash Tray Cap loose-one side is broke off may be able to pop back in, didnt try, used

Driver Side Side Mirror up/down asdjustability- the center part was loose until I "forced" back in(was liek a lil bar and a slot for it), was held on by corner screws, now dosent have up down

Tripodometer resets when car off- trip goes to 0 when the car is cut off

Brake Pulsation- new brakes/rotors

Dr. Side PL switch only lock, no unlock- um take apart and see if corroded?? used

When I say used just mean will probly buy that way to fix.

What do you all think of this deal?

Thanks,
Tommy

**Sorry about the thread title**

Some more I forgot:
No brake pedal rubber cover
Driver Side Reverse light cover cracked
Both Turn signal covers cracked
Headlights Dont shoot far, aimed low I assume

the head light issue is covered in a sticky somewhere, and the other things just seem like little stuff that you just have to figure out. Thats what I would do, little things one at a time.

Yep, there is a huge sticky on the headlight issues in the Pontiac Firebird 1967-2002 Forum.

Try draining the tranny and putting GM Syncromesh in it.
Sounds like the syncs may be going out but this stuff works wonders.

The headunit/speakers in our cars suck. Just trash it all and buy new.

Here's the sticky for the headlight's

Are the brakes pulsating like it feels like the rotors are warped, or like ABS is going crazy?

Well if the syncromesh dosent work out I plan on doing a junkyard swap! Also had to order brass gear because 180 temp had been done before, but it comes up all the way.
