All I know is that when we removed the baffles from my friends factory hood on his 99 it would make that phat sucking sound like my 1.5 Honda with its 3.5 inch hot air intake.

havent read all of the posts but ram air does work it has been proven on bikes...the most you can get at 150mph is .4psi but then you have to take into account the actual system flaws/design and sealing and it drops to around .1ish psi it was test on bikes a couple times and both came with the same results...i mean look at my times i know it is helping me at least 10hp over anyone else with just a ftra...

mostly there will be a low pressure zone in the lid when the engine is at WOT with ram air you bring this back to ambient pressure or slight above...my guess would be around 5mb or so on an intake like mine doing 120mph... also 6.5mb is close to .1 psi

here are some link with good controlled tests

So it does work there is a reason why all production sport bikes have it on them...

How effective it is I have already posted my ideas, but as far as the above statement face value, just because they put it on bikes doesn't mean it works. All it would take for the manufacturers to put a non-effective power adder on it is for one manufacturer to try it as a marketing idea, and the marketing to work. Soon the other companies will not want to be the bike that doesn't have it, they would put it on just for that reason alone.

Also, somebody set me straight please...I'm pretty sure the firehawk hood intake goes directly into the lid? I know on my suncoast hood on my camaro it comes in the scoup flowing to the rear of the hood which is ducted to the front of the hood opening over the air box, like I'm pretty sure the SS hood is similar in flow pattern, is the ws6 hood like I think the firehawk hood is, or like my hood is in that regard?

So basicly your all saying that my ram air ws6 is just the same a ss camaro or z28 camaro as far as performance? Well damn I always thought my car was wayyy faster then those because of the RAM AIR now I know why I always lose to those damn cars. I mean I know my car is like 200 pounds heavier maybe less then most z28s but I always thought my ram air made up the difference. Damn it I got taken
