To bypass or not??
im getting ready to put my first performance mod on the SS a slp lid and blackwing filter..i know not much but you gotta start somewhere, so anyway i was wonderin if i should also go ahead and do the throtle body bypass, i think the reason its there in the first place is so the TB doesnt ice, my car is my DD and i live in northern missouri, it wont see sub zero temps but def in the 20's and maybe teens, is the extra 2 horsepower worth it? what happens when a throtle body 'ices'. any opinions?

you're not really gonna see ANY gains from a tb bypass. sure it's beneficial, I have the BMR bypass on my car and I live in Houston but don't expect anything out of it. It just bypasses the tb so it doesn't warm it up, which is only necessary in icy climates, otherwise it's def worth it.
If you're looking for gains, get a lid and some exhaust and go from there!

bahhh.. even in cold climates it doesn't matter. I bypassed the TB coolant lines on my old LT1, v6, and my current LS1 and I drive them daily in the snow and all. the only way I can see the TB icing up is if someone opened the hood just after you started the car before it got warm, pulled the bellows off the car, and and dumped ice water straight onto and all over the TB.. lol.
