Default Is it an off road Y?

Ok so the other day I had the car jacked up and rolled underneath. I began to check out my exhaust and WAIT! Wheres my catalytic converters? I look some more and then some more and I can't find them. I'm not a retard I know what I'm looking for. Sure enough both headers come down to pipes then go to the SLP exhaust and split again into the exit at the back.
Now the reason I ask is because when I bought the car the guy said it had a cat-back system in it. I assumed it had cats. I have no problem with it but I was just wondering if this means it has a ORY or am I needing something different.

Thanks
AR

The guy you bought it from just could have had the cats removed. It doesn't really need an ORY to delete the cats, it could be done with "test-piping".

Yeah, it doesn't mean you have an ORY. My cat was just removed and a cutout was put in its place.

Ok I know where the "cat-back" is. My question is does my set up count as an ORY?

i would say it is an ory. if it does not have cats then it is for offroad use only. plain and simple.

Well if you have no cats and it is a y-pipe I guess technically it would be considered an ORY

Is the exhaust flat on the driver side? If so you still have the stock Y pipe with removed cats.. Or is it round and look like its been replaced? Also the car should be decently loud

They could be right after the manifolds and you just don't see them. On the 99+ 0r 00+ cars have the cats there so you really can't see them that well, but they are there.

Nope headers come down and it just goes into what looks like a newer pipe. And yes the car is decently loud.

Well from what you have given us so far I'm gonna have to say the previous owner used an ORY and an SLP cat back. Although technically it doesn't have cats, any aftermarket exhaust that hooks up at the y pipe is a "cat back".

Is it newer pipe all the way back, or just in a section? On the driver side of the y is the pipe some what flattened? If not, like mentioned above, its not the stock y pipe, perhaps an SLP ORY for the exhaust manifolds.
