Put poly mounts on both of my cars before I sold them. The 98 1LE cars came stock with poly mounts I believe.

Get the Prothane one... The ES Mount is around 1/2" taller than the stock LS1 mount. That extra 1/2" of the ES mount changes the pinion angle because the torque arm is attached to the trans. It helps to not use the torque plate and grind down the nubs on the mount but then the ES mount fails after a thousand miles of street driving. so I vote to get the prothane mount and just install it and go.

All poly trans mounts will cause a lot of vibration but it calms down after a couple thousand miles of driving.

If your car is lowered this will not hurt it, I actually used the spacer plate on mine and it corrected some of the "lost" geometry. With the A4 and the ES one it was TERRIBLE vibes, but I just swapped to an M6 and put a new ES one in and it feels like stock, just a little rumble at idle.

Ok .. kinda bringing this back from the dead...and kinda hijacking it...sorry to the OP

What could I use for the stock one, GM wants 90 bucks. Local parts store only has one for a 5 speed LT1??? and a A4 LT1. Will either of them work?

Thanks...

sorry OP
