I know this has been beat to death
Well I just recently purchased a 99 Z28, M6, 69,xxx. I have no idea what kind of oil I should put in it. I HAVE searched and read a ton of threads on Mobil 1, Castrol Syntec, Royal Purple, Pennzoil Platinum. Well I dont know if I should put 10w30 or 5w30, because I have put 10w30 in just about every car I have owned. What do you personally suggest.
This will be my daily driver.
Thanks!

For Michigan, run 10W-30. If you were in a warmer climate then you can use 5W-30. But since we have snow up in Michigan, stick with 10W-30. I have 27K on mine. I changed power plants in it 10K ago. I have been feeding it mobile 1 ever since. For your car, buy synthetic. It will help prolong the life of that beast.

dont buy into the oil debate, unless your car only sees track passes, who cares. just run whatever is best for your climate. use lighter weight oil for a colder region. use heavier stuff for warmer places. change it at 3k miles along with the filter, make sure to use synthetic oil (mobil 1, syntec, pennzoil platinum, etc.) and you will be fine.
