Default FTRA on a SS ?

Will the ftra system affect the factory ram air on the SS. I heard you can run one or the other and if you run both they will cancel each other out. So what is true?

The way the stock SS "ram air" routes back towards the front of the car is laughable. You will benefit much more from an FTRA. The reasoning behind not running both is because you need to seal the lower air box to create vaccum for "ram air" effect.

The ftra system seals off the the front of the air box. How do they seal it off?

there's hard rubber piece in the kit that u stick in the front opening of the airbox....this closes off the hood inlet and allows u to pull only cold air from the FTRA intake....be sure to spend the extra making sure u have a good positive seal on the bottom and lid...its worth it

i will attest to the FTRA working. to the tune of well lets call it $10k. it sucked up about a gallon of water. words of advice. use the block off plate if you go threw deep puddles. i never had a problem with mine other than that, even in heavy rain in houston. great mod

as a note...if u do hit some water...do not use the gas pedal...let the car coast through it and u won't pick up any water
