Default Is F-body battery secured to place somehow?

I thought that was just my car that missed that fixation, but seeing some pics I can see that others don't have any brackets too?
So, is the battery secured somehow?

Yes. It is held in place by a bracket at the base of the battery.

the tray has a lip the batt slides into and on the other side you bolt in a plastic piece

Also, if its still the AC Delco stock battery, replace it cause it will leak on you eventually.

If you look around the back of the battery (towards the rear of the car) you will see a bolt right in the middle. With an extenstion you can take this out. What will come out is a long bolt and a plastic piece. That piece has a lip that fits over the bottom of the battery to keep it in place.

Thank you guys, I saw this smallish plastic detail the holds the battery from the rear, but didn't see any lip in the tray in the front. It was dark though, I'll take a look again tomorrow

How long does the stock AC Delco battery usually last, on the average?

If you have the bolt down by the terminals tight and the battery still slides around the front tabs that hold the battery are broken. in that case you can either replace the battery tray/coolant tank (they are all one piece) or Buy a year one battery hold down, or make a hold down yourself out of aluminum that does the same.

Here is a pic of the Year one hold down but it also shows the location of the bolt down between the terminals.

Thanx again guys. Lip at the front of the tray was broken indeed, and also thread of the long bolt holding the plastic piece was sheared. Was turned away at the dragstrips' tech inspection. I fixed the broken lip simple enough - screwed 2 screws fith fat heads in the front side of the tray with heads approx. 8mm from the tray plane, so the heads acted as a lip, holding the front of the battery from lifting passed inspection
