Yeah...I'll alway's agree on the who cares statement...Gas is expensive and sucks for everyone..but I still smile when it's time to give this monster the finest premium...
Only thing I don't get is how some say that they get 27 or even 30 mpg....no way..
When you read the specs on any year of the trans am...It states only 22-24mpg on a stocker...

I think it's more impressive to get 300+ hp and get good mileage than to do 300hp and get 10mpg. So it's perfectly reasonable to ask that question in the right context. Plus, when that context is in comparing it to the exact same car, you're likely gauging if there is an underlying problem with your car that's main symptom is bad mileage. Blowing up on someone because you're tired of being compared to 4bangers is BS. Go somewhere else to vent how upset you are talking to ricers...that's not what this thread's topic is about.

I use to get 30mpg with a procharged M6 on the highway at ~75mph. Gas mileage mostly depends on how you drive it. If I was beating on it stoplight to stoplight, I bet it dropped to under 15 mpg.

naahh not so much a liar......I just go off the specs....If they rate the trans am at 24mpg/highway... then that's just what I know I'm getting...If I get alittle more.. great...It's kinda tricky to clock 1mpg to say that you do get 30mpg...Really I don't even care... and anyway's..I'm done here...

A properly modded and tuned car will be more efficient and therefore have better mileage with the same speed and driving habits . As for stock specs those of us who have been around a while can attest to the fact that some cars roll off the line with more horsepower (sometimes a lot) and better mileage than others. I have had and known others to have a few factory freaks over the years.

Why wouldn't you want to get the most MPG out of your car? Not like you get bragging rights for your car getting 20MPG when it should be getting 25. If I'm not racing my car and I'm cruising, you better be damn sure I'm putting it in neutral coasting down hills and coasting to stop signs and traffic lights. I'm not going to throw away money just so I good feel knowing my ride is a performance car because it's is a gas guzzler.

just bought a c5 z06 and in town i get like 13-14mpg but what a difference on the highway man..im averaging like between 33-35 babying the hell out of it. on my n/a lt1 heads cam intake car i was getting like 12-13 city driving with a 3600 converter though.
