Lid + Catback ? What kind of gains?
As I have recently posted. just got a 2000 NBM z28 vert.
looking first two things to do is intake (lid) and a catback.
wife won't let me even do this asap, but i think i can pull it off relatively soon, headers are out for the time being and i know that is obviously what needs to be done as well as a y pipe of some kind.
how much gain would i notice from say an SLP / MTI lid + slp loudmouth 1 catback?

save some money and go with someone else than slp.... ive been reading around on here and so many people are pissed because their prices are real high, and not any better than other aftermarket places. I'm not sure but i would expect gains to be around 10-20 if that. just a guess

Any lid will do--basically a lid is a lid...MTI might be better..some had had rubbing issues with hood contact with SLP--I have slp and no problems though---as far as a catback--LM 1 is REALLY LOUD..check out LS1SOUNDS for vids/sounds.

i want really ******* loud. i had a 2006 mustang gt and i had it really ******* loud. so i want at least that equivalent.
ok, mti lid + slp loudmouth 1 catback.
relative hp gain? 20hp 20 tq? comon, i'm gonna doubt that, but what you guys think?

I'm not sure about exact numbers but look at it like this. You probably will NOT be able to feel the difference but you will most likely pull a car length or two on a car without the mods and it will sound a whole lot better.
I had the LM1 on my car for awhile. With LT headers and an off road Y pipe it sounds like crap IMO. Very raspy in the 1800-2200 rpm range. I got rid of it and got a Corsa catback. Not a big fan of it either.

You can expect a 20-ish HP (engine) gain with any lid + good catback. Figure 12-15 rear-wheel HP gain.

anything else on the cheap to increase power? yes i know of stickies and the bagillion threads, but sometimes it simpler just to get concise reponses rather than sifting through 40 threads.
ok, mti lid ( paper filter / or should i use a k&n ) + catback, ported and polished TB?
I do have a 6spd as well. I should be easily seeing over 300whp 300wtq correct?
sorry for these questions as i am new to ls1s

M6 LS1 + lid + catback = over 300rwhp no problem (on average).

good to know..... man i just don't wanna be slower than my 06 GT.
damn deal on the vert i got.... oh well, i still love the drop top.
I just wonder what it runs in the 1/4 stock. the GT was about a 13.9, i'm guessing this car is going to be about the same.

People have put hardtop/t-top M6 LS1s into the 13.0-13.1 range stock (with a select few factory freaks even hitting 12.8-12.9). Granted, those are great drivers with great weather & traction, and most won't run quite that fast stock. But even your 'vert should have no issues running some solid mid-13s with a lid & catback.
