Default Very nooooobbbb question

How do i Drain the trans fluid? Do i pull the pan or is there a drain plug?? automatic

You should not do this yourself until you know more. Take it to a shop. It's kind of messy and not a simple drain and refill job.

already dropped the pan. Ive just never delt with a auto before.

Yeah drop the pan go to a parts store get a trans kit (filter & gasket) make sure both the surface on the pan and the trans is clean so it seals good when you put the pan back on. When you add fluid run it through all the gears then check it.

That probably wasn't smart......are you changing the filter? Also just so you know there is alot of fluid inside the torque convertor which is better removed with a flush since dropping the pan can't get it out.

just wanted to drain it out to check for metal shavings my converter took a **** i think. Posted in the auto forums if ya wanna check it out..havent gotten to many replys but if anyone can help id appreciate it

If your having tranny problem that have caused the driving ability to detoriate enough to notice, it's time to take get it rebuilt. I'm assuming your just trying to see if there is metal to confirm this. Otherwise your just wasting time and money changing fluid on a dead tranny.

I think my converter took a **** on me..I just got a built 4l60e about 2 months ago..has about 1,000 miles on it
