two things.
my clear mti fits fine with the holley filter.

if you've done the free ram air mod, your filter will get dirtier quicker, and next to the hp, being able to see your filter is a plus imo

My MTI carbon fiber fits like ****. There is a gap between the MAF & the lid, which I have to tape up to properly seal. The lid hits my hood (the first they have heard of this. I guess they dont read the boards much), and the lid cracked on the seam the first month I had the lid. I went all last year with duct tape aroud the lid. I had to super glue it.

They were nice enough to offer me a replacement, if I paid them $90.

My next one will be the TSP clear.

I've seen the TSP lid, haven't had a chance to get it yet, but IMO the fit is incredible. A friend of mine has it on his car and I've used it on my car at the track and it fits perfectly on both cars.

Pre-TSP, a lid was a lid. Same power. Until the TSP lid came out. It will outperform all the others.

thanks, craig, but i still haven't figured out how a lid will allow the hood to remain functionable. Thats the only reason i haven't ordered one already.
I've heard the K&N FIPK works really well with the Ultra Z hood. That hood looks awesome!

my MTI clear is cracked bigger than dallas. the passenger side back of it where it meets the filter is cracked about 3 inches. BS if you asked me. its cracked right along the piece of foam tape i put around it to seal it to the k&n so i dont think its leakin any air. im thinkin about using some epoxy or some silicon on it. will MTI help you out any?? i really like the look of it. i have a k&n sticker on mine and it looks so cool to be able to see the sticker and the filter right below it.

That's 'cause there is no real difference beteen lids (at most 1 - 2 hp). Funny thing though, what fits well on some cars, does not fit well on others

I installed my MTI lid last week, and I love it! I can def. feel it pulling harder, and longer. I origionally ordered a TSP lid, but 2 weeks later I called them and they said they were switching vendors for black lids, and it may take up to 2 months to get one to me. I am really glad that I just went on ahead and got a MTI lid. In GMHightech, the MTI lid had the fastest time and the highest trap speed.

I have the MTI clear lid. Love the way it looks, can't really say I felt any difference in performance. It was very hard to get on, and it seems like it could break at an moment since it is only plastic. Ever since I installed that lid and the put on this b.s. BBK tb I have actually lost power. Now my car runs like **** and doesnt feel nearly as strong as it did stock. Now, ordered an S3, and then after that I will go get tuned. Maybe a shop can help me out.....
