If it doesn't annoy you, don't get one.

It's literally a $1 investment. If it bothers you at all, I would do it.

When I picked up my car new from the dealer, I didn't put more than 10 miles on it driving around showing it off, before I HAD to go home, get on the computer, and order the eliminator - it's THAT ANNOYING!

Being that this car was my first manual transmission car, you could imagine how confusing it was to me trying to learn to drive a manual with skipshift.

I remember the first day when it locked me out of 2nd, and I had unknownly tossed it in 4th. I was so confused when the car started bogging at 15 mph.

I actually just removed my "eliminator" but thats because it's turned off in my computer now...so I figured why not plug the harness back into it and have it appear stock.

Anybody want the eliminator thing?

This is my first M6 as well.....and I didnt know what the hell the skip shift was....I was wondering why I kept having trouble and it wouldnt go into 2nd. Then I read about it in my car manual....needless to say I never use it. I just rev the car out in 1st to 3 grand and shift to 2nd. It usually shuts off around 2600rpms....But i did try it once or twice and the 1st to 4th is a pretty damn rough shift...dont like it....but since i learned how to drive around it, it doesnt bother me anymore.

It shouldnt do it at high rpms...it should only do it in a certain range, but I cant remember exactly what range it is. Either way it is annoying and was the first thing fixed on all three of the M6 cars I have had.
