Default Gutting Cats?

Im a newbie. What would you do? Just take all the stuff out of the cat?

I'm not sure about the cost, but my car came without cats on it. There's pipes where they used to be. I live in Oklahoma where we don't have inspections
Really kind of pointless to leave them on there since any law that requires them will probably require an emissions test anyway...

u know there are people on this site that will pay 150 for a set of cats off of a ls1, u may wanna look into a catless y-pipe and sell the cats off for $$

Some states, like mine, have a visual without the sniffer. I have an ORY so I can't pass, but I could with gutted cats.

I gutted the ones on one of my cars. Didn't feel like trying to weld the flanges on a piece of pipe because they're not straight. I just needed to bolt up and go.
Gutting them was a pain though, seems to be a layer of asbestos in there too.

If u want cats--get aftermarket ones and sell/keep stockers...Magnaflow has many MUCH better flowing ones.

I was thinking about straights but I heard it messes with your, Rings??? I dunno I just dont want to dick it up while its a new motor.

It doesn't mess with your rings. It will throw a code, but you can get that tuned out or use 02 sims.
