Default question for goat owners

which of you have driven both the ls1 camaro and a ls2 gto.

which one road better and all that. i got offered a fair amount for the camaro i bought, with that extra money i can possibly buy a gto and was wondering if it was worth it.

I had an 04 ls1 gto b4 i got the z28. The interior, and ride quality of the GTO is far better then my z28 or any fbod ive been in. As for an ls2 goat and fbody i believe its a drivers race. The gto weights alot more then an fbody. So its going to come down to what you want out of the car.

well i care a lot about ride quality. i love the way my ss rides, but then again i used to drive a truck. the speed is always nice but i know that the gto ls2 isnt much faster than a slightly modded ss because of the weight difference so i was just wondering other experiences between the two.

I would say the GTO is more of a grand touring type of car that is more refined. The LS1 F-body is a little bit more raw in your face but is still nice.

If I were you I wouldn't bother with an LS1 GTO unless you are able to legally steal it. I've driven both LS1/2 GTOs and there is a difference.

I find the difference between a F-body and a GTO like a 350z and a G35.....similar but different goals in the end that seperate them

Also, FWIW I think speed wise it goes like this
LS2 GTO almost = LS1 F-Bod [ drivers race with the edge still going to the F-bod]>LS1 GTO

ls1 vs the ls2 goat is a drivers race, ive ran one on the street a while back and pulled on it pretyy good......a tune on those ls2 goats really wake em up though...im just not a big fan of the look of them

I bought a new 04 GTO M6 and had it for a few years....I think it was the best DD I ever had. However, I now have a 00 WS6.....I just like f-bodies better.

My GTO handles far greater than any fbody I've ever driven. And yes, as others stated, LS2 GTO's vs. LS1 fbody's is a drivers race.

yeah. i love my ss alot but there was a decent deal hanging over my head and i was just curious. plus they dont upgrade well since there are like 2000 gto's on the streets vs the amount of fbodies around.

IMO the GTO feels quite a bit heavier and awkward in performance driving situations (autoX) but its a great open road car and the comfort and power is impressive. I'd drop the GTO for another F-body almost any day, but mainly because of looks and aftermarket support/cost.

I own a lamb is that ok? The GTO is basically a luxury touring car. The F body is more hardcore. Both are good drive them both and make your decision from there...
