What would be the fastest way to gain some power on my 00 camaro ss that has SLP options, it's a 6 speed and it's quick but i would like to blow even more doors off, different cars.

the weakest link on a Camaro. it's your rear end.

the gears and DR's will kill it unless your clutch goes out.

The car is stock I take it?

What kind of power are you wanting to make? 500? 1,000? 2,000?

Not to be a smartass, but you should a little searching...I'll outline the basics for you. First, decide on what you want to do with the car. Then, work your suspension, you can make stupid power but if you can't put it to the ground...it's no good.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/suspension-brakes/819775-suspension-brake-tech-faq.html

Next, get the rear end out of the way. Take it out and sell the piece. You can put a 9", 12 bolt, Dana 60...even an older Ford 9" can work if you can fabricate and weld good.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/gears-axles/412366-rear-end-faq.html

Fourthly, you might want to upgrade the transmission. Depending on what you have...you've got a shitload of options to go with. Built 4L80E's, TH-400, and Powerglide's are for the auto guys.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic-transmission/728728-commonly-asked-stall-transmission-related-questions.html

Personally, all that stall **** ***** with my head. Plus, auto's are about as fun as a 16 year old virgin in bed...if you think you can go stick then go with that. The 6-speed in our cars is called the T-56. You can get them built, or buy an upgraded tranny. G-Force makes some pretty good ones....also you'll need a new clutch. I recommend Mcleod...they make some stout ****.

THEN, you work on the motor. You can from mild to WILDER than hell in a second. Everything from bolt on's to the internal motor. Then, you can get into aftermarket blocks...since I wouldn't push the stock bottom end much past 600 RWHP. Tons of options here...just look around....

https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-internal-engine/772576-got-cam-heads-rocker-machining-questions-about-ls1-ls2-ls6-read-me-first.html

Then, you get into FI (Supercharger/Turbocharger) and/or Nitrous set-ups. This get's a little more complicated and you should really know what you're doing before you start walking down this path.

While doing this...you should either learn how to tune the car or become real good friends with somebody that does know how to. Tuning is where the money is at....

Always remember though, a car works like a sports team. It's only as good as it's weakest link. If the driver can't drive...a 1000 RWHP car isn't ****, so don't forget the driver mod.

I did the FRA, adding a lid soon, and once I break 12s (If can't I really just suck..but regardless) I plan on adding some LTs and just enjoying my ride. Mid to upper 12s with 110+ traps is plenty enough to play with most people and you don't have to spend a ton to do it.

Just my humble opinion.
Cheers.

What about a new rear end? I took it to the mechanics a while ago and they said that might rear end might be going out, because the when they turned the wheels while the car was off the ground it made a clicking sound. I thought it was due to the slip wheel lock. But if I did get a new rear end what kind would be recommended?

12 bolt, 9 inch, dana 60 are the most common rear end replacements. Do a search for one of them and youll find tons of info....

have fun
