Default alarm going off when i lock car?

the last few days everytime i lock the car with the remote and start to walk away it starts to beep after like 4-5 seconds. It only beeps twice and acts like the alarm is going off then just stops after the second beep. WTF?

check the sensitivity of the alarm (its in the trunk on the passenger side by the spare tire) it might be set too high? thats about all i could think of, maybe someone else who has had this problem could be of more help.

I had a problem like this a while back. Make sure all of the entrance points are closed. Try the alarm again. My alarm would honk as if it was saying back off honked twice, then go off. If the car cont. to act up un plug the shock sensor in the back off the car. Try it again. My sensor went bad and was only like 20 bucks at a dealer ship. Still fine today. Hope that helps it is really quick and easy to trace.

Yeah unplug it and see if it does it. If its stops going off from unplugging it take the sensor apart and clan it. They are known to get moisture in them and corrode connections making it go off randomly.

The sensor on my Z was seriously corroded internally, had no choice but to replace. I'm a tech, so I thought if it wasn't too bad, I could resolder the traces, maybe install a jumper in bad spots, but it was ALL bad along the bottom end where water would have collected. To prevent reccurence with the new sensor, I placed plastic wrap over the top of the sensor, using duct tape at the top and bottom to hold wrap down.

This should shield it from water running down off the hatch when you open it, which is the only way I can think of moisture getting in there cause my hatch's seal is in perfect shape, no evidence of leakage when I wash the car.

Isn't the alarm supposed to beep twice when arming with the remote? That's why I always lock from inside first.

Yes the alarm is supposed to honk twice with the remote.

When you lock the car from the inside in a sence you are bypassing the alarm itself and just locking the door from being opened from the outside. If someone was to open the door/ hatch the alarm would not go off.
