Default 454 BB in 01 ws6

i have a 454 BB out of a 76 impala thats been sitting in my garage for about 25 years i was thinking of rebuilding and either turbo or supercharging it and dropping it in my 01 ws6. i was just wondering if i would have any majoir problems with it fitting or if it would fit at all.

you would need motor plates, a really tall hood if carb.ed, and a lot of time, but it can be done. check out the stickies on the bbc/sbc specific forums just below.

why not do it to an old v6 bird instead? it involves the same work, and it's nothing special.

Build an LSX block and a turbo and have a car that will still handle well enough by today's standards.

building a big block for boost and then buying "the boost" is going to be like 9-10K at least.you could build a wicked LS for that and it would weigh less and not look like a matchbox car like that one^^^^^

I didn't think they are all pontiac now, with a Chevy LS1 in them..........

I say, if you have the urge, go for it. The mid 70's big blocks are about all gone. it would be neat to put it to use.

I have a 74 Delta 88 with a 455 just sitting there. I thought about building the 455 and dropping it into my 72 Cutlass. But the Cutlass already has a 68 small block Olds I built and put in, with only 13,000 miles on the rebuild.

But........driving the TA is so much fun, it takes up all my wrenching/tinkering time.

Oh, decisions, decisions. Maybe later.......................
