The catback is 3" all the way back, it is just a slip fit held together with a band clamp

ok i seen the GMMG center exhaust and i love the look with the center exit rear fascia, so would that be just as loud as the loudmouth seeing as i have no cats or would the GMMG be a tad quieter cause it is chambered?

also i am thinking of just taking the loudmouth muffler and running mandrel bent pipe to the center exit tip that would look good as well.

I have LT's, ORY, and LM1 on my '01 SS. That car is also cammed. I recently swapped out the "resonator" for a Borla XR1. The old setup sounded amazing at idle, but was entire undriveable because of the raspy noise level. I like a car with a good tone to it and the borlamouth does that. My '01 SS sounds great when I get into the throttle, and is much more enjoyable and useable. I would not go with the LT's, ORY, and LM1 setup if I were you.

lt. ory, lm1 = nice at idle, poop at WOT

loud, but sounds like complete ***...calling it a "redneck farm truck" sound would be a compliment as its a step up

the sound is especially craptacular when letting out of the throttle

best setup I've heard on a LS1 is lts, duals, magnaflow mufflers, but IMO every ory setup I've heard has been bad compared to a dual setup...they sound like a boat

Loud Mouth is insane loud. I've only heard one in person. it was a LM2 with Long tubes, and i'm unsure of the rest of the exhaust.

Pretty much while travelling on the freeway and the LM Camaro was..idk about...70-100 feet in front of me(give or take..), when he hit WOT, it startled me. i was like 'wtf...'

A little too loud for a DD in my opinion, but at idle, it sounds badass. And dont get me wrong, i like my car loud, people tell me my car is pretty loud, but i dont think its too bad. All i have is a single muffler with an ORY into a single 3" straight pipe.

so what i'm sayin is, If I think its too loud, its pretty freakin loud.

To answer the original question - the LM1 has a "resonator" muffler and the LM2 has a bullet muffler. Both systems are loud, but the LM1 a little bit louder and raspier than the LM2.

Any other posts are just people attempting to argue that their setup is the "best" and is pure speculation.

That is not correct. The LM2 has fiberglass packing inside of it. Race bullets like the Dynomax are just perforated cores and sound horrible cammed w/ ORY's and LT's. I changed out my Dynomouth bullet for an XR-1 Borla #40085 which has stainless steel packing in it.

When I get the Incon Twin turbos on I am going back to a LM style CB and will give the LM2 muffler a try before going right to the XR-1.

Lm1's with Longtubes and ORY sound awesome. Dynomouth also sounds good though. The Lm1's with LT's and ORY are raspier after letting off, they sound great accelerating!

loud and proud is teh way i am with my LM1 with teh pacesetter LT and the ORY. it s is realy raspy and loud but if u have a good tune and a god set of plugs and wires its a night and day differenece. i just did my plugs and wires and it sounds alot crisper with less "poppin" or "red neck truck" sound. a proper tune will make a worl of difference. now i remind u it will never sound like a puss-stang but it will wax em is all. i got my LM1 for cheap as the guy said it wa stoo oud for his taste, and if its to loud u can always switch to the lm2 resonator for bout 80 bucks.

I had the LM1 with LT headers and an ORY for awhile. I hated the way it sounded. All the high school kids loved it because it was loud but the tone sounded like **** imo. It had really bad rasp when lightly accelerating between 2300-2800rpms. The rasp was so loud and shitty sounding...I got rid of the LM1 as soon as I could.

Like others have stated, the LM1 "muffler" is nothing more than a larger section of pipe. There is nothing in it.

Hey man, I've got a brand new LM1 resonator that I never used sitting in my bedroom if you want it...
