ill have mine monday. i live in alabama so i dont see any salt on the roads and when im not driveing the car its in the garage. i honestly dont care if i get a little surface runt after a wile as long as its not all the way through lol.
if they start to rust ill hit them with some heat paint now and then or some kind of rust inhibitor paint.

Long tubes won't pass a visual with or without air/egr.

If they are equipped with all emission control devices they will.

Oh you live in MD theyre about as bad as Cali on their laws. But I know tons of people who have LTs with EGR/AIR hooked up and cats on their y-pipes who go through full inspections (visual, scan, and sniffer) who pass fine.

Whatever you go with use the stock GM gaskets, not the copper ones. The copper ones tend to leak.

pacesetter and hooker both suck..my pacesetters started rusting within 2 or 3 months of having them, now with having them over a year they pretty much look like ****...also i know people running hooker that have the same issues...i wish i would have bought the ebay headers!!!

I have Hooker long tubes, Pacesetter Y pipe and Im lowered on the Eibach Pro kit. The headers sit higher then the stock manifold/caty. setup...and they sound great. Took me 6 hours to take off/install everything on jacks in the driveway...they slid right in!

I like my Pacesetters. They are discolored now though. They are great for the price I must say.

Quite the contrary. Md has a rather easy emissions test. OBDII scan, no visual. I've passed every time with long tubes, no cats, no air. If your tester doing the visual knows what he is supposed to be looking for, lts will not pass a visual. Lts relocate the cats further down the exhaust (against a federal law) making them illegal in all 50 states. This is why no one cali can run long tubes unless you have a tester who will look the other way or is a total dumb ***, which prolly is the case with the people in your area.

The newer Fbodies didn't have EGR I think. But I heard that taking off the EGR (when it's there and stock tuned) ruins your gas mileage significantly. I wanted to delete mine and did a search to find that people started losing 2-4 MPG, which is a lot when you're only getting 16-17 city with an A4.

Maybe a tune will fix it. Can others chime in?

So if I considered SS besides LPP what else can be had for that price? I would rather get a set that I will be happy with for a while. Still not sold on the SS yet.
