Default Pacesetter or Hooker LT's?

Like the title suggests, I am looking for your thoughts and inputs on what I should go with. Before anyone suggests I will be going with ceramic coated.

1998 T/A A4.

I would rather prefer real world experience not "hear say" please.

i have pacesetters, they are great. ceramic coated, they will change color after a while in the elements, but all of them will unless you go stainless for big bucks. ceramic coated pacesetters are the way to go though.

I have Hookers since they were on the car when I bought it. But if I had to get them myself I would have gotten the Pacesetters.

What is the average pricing on the PS's? I got a price for the Hookers for under $400.

I thought they were about the same thing....

I have PS LT's and ORY btw.

I got the headers on these boards for $200 new in the box, and the ORY from a shop nearby for $140.

either one will do....my Hooker's went in like a glove, with no problems. Go with whatever you can get cheaper.

On a 98, the Pacesetters go in easier, but the hookers have huge ground clearance.

my pacesetters went in very easily and i was doing them in the driveway. I like mine, though i dont think hooker would give any issues either.

Thanks for the information so far. I refuse to use ebay!

I just wanted to see what peoples experiences were. Looks like either will do, are the any differences in gains between the two?

I would get the SS Hookers for the mid to low $5xx. I have helped install 3 sets and all went in easy and had good ground clearance.

Im about to buy black painted pacesetters. Headers are pretty much headers. Sure a little difference but they will get me up to 450HP and thats my goal. Black painted you ask why? Because ceramic coated will rust eventually and these can just be cleaned and repainted and i can pay $259 for the headers + install kit at TSP. I also like the black look a little better in my engine bay. Just my .02.

DO NOT GET PACESETTERS WITH EGR/AIR TUBES. The welds are crap. I've had to replace two passenger side headers because the EGR tubes broke where it was welded to the primary tube. Both headers the bad weld was the cause of the failure. Header one was pro-rated but still cost me $125 and it was a year and a half old. Header number 2 the horrible customer service guy gave me nothing but attitude and said he'd have to see pictures and a original receipt before he'd tell me if they'd warranty the second header which was less than a year old. The tubes were blocked off so there was no force being applied to them. I had requested the warranty header be the race style and the guy told me it would be but I was sent the ERG/AIR header which failed as I said already.

The long and short of it is that if you really want to keep this car and use the EGR/AIR system I say you buy a better quality header. If you want to go the cheap route buy the PS but the race style ones.
