Default Stock LS1 power question

Ok, Ive owned a few Firebirds in my time, but this is my first A4, so I have a couple concerns. She's an LS1 Formula with only 50k, bone stock.

Ok, this may sound childish, but I cant break the tires loose from a stop! She feels like she may be bogging down, but I dont have a TC button, and I dont see the module thingy near the battery. After the bog, she picks up power and runs like a raped ape, but still feels like its holding back at launch. I havent tried power braking, as I'm not trying to drop the tranny out right away. My last LS1 was the 6 speed, so I didnt have these issues. Is it just the stock power is too low, and maybe after some mods I'll get the tire screeching launches you need every now and then to justify your existence ?

Your gears could be holding you back. You might have the 2.73s. I don't know much about a4s, and since you don't have TC that couldn't be it.

It's probably the gearing. And power braking will not blow your rear end, just try it on smooth, rather than rough pavement. You have to press the brakes, apply gas, ease off the brakes until the rear tires start spinning, but the car doesn't move. And mine will sit there and roast the tires until they blow out. It can be hard on the brake pads.

But if I start out from a stop, the tires grab and go!

i have an a4 and it has no problem spinning the tires. the engine is bone stock as far as i know(besides a lid) and it will even break loose in second at WOT.

Im just on street tires but they are 275's. Ive had goodyear eagle f1's and fuzion Zri's, and could break them loose at will in first.

sure it does not have an asr or tcs? If anything brake stand it for just a sec to get the tires going worth doing at least once.

ive never launch it from a dead stop yet, (scared of the 10bolt) but when i raced from a roll i chirped going into second. so im sure i could get the tires making some noise from a dead stop, just a little paranoid.

I like spec js thinking. Get some gears for it, then you will be golden.

I also had the same problem with my old 99 A4. Had the 2.73's and it was a lid-only car. Changed over to a set of 3.73's and WOW! Huge difference. First mod should be gears, then get you a stall.

You have better gears qwk93ta. He probably has the 2.73s, while all SS and WS6 cars had 3.23s

People talk about the 10 bolt like it's made of fine china. You've really never launched from a stop?
