biggest complaint you will see is the 88 pound weight penalty with the iron block, i just switched to one and can tell absolutely no differenct in handling or braking.

Aluminum- Light but generally more pricey
Iron- Cheaper, but heavier

Well i would figure the iron will take more raw power until the aluminum block gets darton sleeved. Then it's a toss up in my opinion. The aluminums can take a but load of power but think it starts getting questionable with above 800hp I think on stock sleeves/bore. Aren't the sleeve walls thcker on iron blocks?

I believe so DVS...That is why a lot of boosted applications go for the 6.0 iron block. I know when I actually have money, a f1a with a 408 will be fun as hell. If I were to go N/A with some spray, ls2/3 block would be my choice.

Oh I know that the ls2 blocks are good *** blocks. zoSICK had a 402 spraying the **** out of it, every weekend, and it held just fine. They can take boost, but if I were SERIOUS about boost (I'm talking like 20-30 psi off of a d1/f1, or t76 or larger), I would go iron. But the ls2 is still a great block.
