Yeah, I will put some $$$ on it. I already know mod for mod the 6spd is faster on the street. And he will slaughter you on the top end depending on how far yall go. This is after his cam and gears right? When I was stock, also in a vert now, I cant tell you how many a4's I would skull drag on the highway. With equal mods, he will get you. I have had at least a dozen races against an equally modded a4, won ALL of them. I'll take that bet any day, all mods being equal. I am sure chris or josh can vouch for that.

thats a joke......you just refuse to give autos any credit
yes i realize stalled autos shine out of the hole but thats not all converters do. they have a huge advantage called shift extension. that same shift extension is what will help me stay with cody on the big end. so we have a bet....Cody cam, gears, LS6 intake, clutch, and mine the way it sits except gears will be 3.73s and the only person getting slaughtered will be Cody out of the hole.
after that no one will slaughter anyone. i have some crisp 100 dollar bills to back that up. actually i think it will be a damn close race....and i will buy a round of beers afterward![Chug! Chug! Chug!](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_chug.gif)
thats not really fair....your car pulls like crazy on the top end. then after i lost i would end up defending autos for a month bc of the vulchers in this thread....

as a matter of fact i remember our race as we turned left on stoner going to the boat launch and we ran it till about 70 and neither one of us pulled a bit. i know you were fighting traction but what do you think cody will be doing??? so whaddya want us to race to 170??? thats a bit far fetched. i think a street race in all fairness shouldnt exceed about 100 mph.

u said originally from a roll cause the dig wouldn't be fair. he needs some dr's for a dig race. if not, then everyone needs to be on street tires. I just think back from when the time I was stock and had a few other buddies with autos who no longer have them. I always got them on the big end, never failed. there is a reason the 6spds trap higher stock for stock. mod for mod. they pull harder on the top end than an auto. I just can't help but think about all the street races I have had against auto. the faster we went, the more I would pull. and I don't have $100's to bet on a race, what do u think I am? a nurse?

Another point to consider. Let's not forget that a light-weight chromoly flywheel is going in with the Textralia. None of us know what the hell effect it's gonna have with my setup. I'm the guinea pig on this one. May help or hurt me. I'm gonna love the bike-like revs, though

I drive a six speed car because I prefer it. My car is a street car (****, read as "my car was as street car", the damn thing is yard art right now).
That said, a properly stalled auto is always faster than a six speed; other mods and weight being the same.
The six speed record right now is held by the guy who built my transmission. Do you know WHY he has the six speed record? Advertisement. Guess how many passes he gets out of that "built, faceplated, cryo-treated, badass" transmission. Seriously, take a guess. Two beers to the winner.
They're a hell of a family, and really helped me out when I was in a tight spot.
Why do you suppose HE chose to build a six speed car? Do you think he might have an agenda? Do you think he might get a few more customers because someone who reads GM High Tech Performance sees that HIS personal car is the six speed record? Do you think I'll have an easier time selling my transmission (should I choose to) if I add that fact to the advertisement?
For drag racing purposes, a properly stalled auto reigns. End of discussion.
Anyone who thinks otherwise either has an agenda, or is ignorant.
I don't mean ignorant as an insult. I only mean ignorant as in "don't know what they're talking about." I don't mean stupid. Just uneducated on the subject.

whatever man. I have raced stalled autos on the street. I am not denying the fact that for drag racing its better. once u get to a certain point it is, but we aren't there. I do recall the race on clyde fant, I also recall grabbing 3rd, spinning for a sec, and then letting off cause of where we were..I don't deny anything, I don't have an agenda. I know what I am saying from my own personal experience.. so what ur saying is u WILL beat cody correct?

Concerning the auto vs. manual circus of discussion:
I completely understand that stalled autos rule the track. Thing is, I'm not a track rat, and never will be because I can't afford the risk of breaking **** on a daily driver.
*On a side note, try dancing in an auto trans on a tight road racing course and see how that works out for ya *(lateral-g.net)*.
With that being said: Due to the fact that I love the performance and feel of a sports car, I choose to drive manual transmissions. It's goddamned fun to rip through gears, your drive is never boring, whether it be on the way to work or on the way to the beer store. If I wanted to just press the go-pedal on my drive, I'd have a sedan or a truck. Guess what, though, I drive a ******* Chevrolet Camaro Z-28.
Whether or not I can beat a stalled auto car at the track, I personally don't give a ****. What I do know, is that I can drive the ever living **** out of a manual trans on the street. I've owned all manual trans cars since I was 15. F-Bodies are not the enemy, anyways (see avatar). What I do care about, is that my car is fun to drive; fun to drive, for me, is a manual transmission.
End Rant.
