Once everyone finally comes to the agreement that 6 speeds are king of the street for many reasons.
1. You can drive them anywhere and still get good gas mileage
2. Dont need tranny coolers
3. If you look at the list of Auto cars I didnt see but 1 of them that have a stall less than 4000.
4. You dont need a high $$$$ converter that needs rebuilding/cleaning every 10 passes along with freshening up the tranny.
5. 6 speeds are king of the street. How many times are you rolling down the highway, interstate, road, or where ever that you actually get to run someone from a dig. Them big stalled autos arent worth a **** from a roll. Trust me or try me..... I'll make a believer out of you!

Dayum! You guys still beatin this one? I have had both and I can tell you weather you want to believe it or not, mod for mod (insert good driver) 6 speed wins everytime up to around 11.50's and that is a fact. After that the auto kicks azz. When I got up to about 11.50 the 6 speed started wanting to tear **** up. That is where I started killing parts like trans mounts, slave cylinders, tq arms, 9" center sections and thick *** Moser 9" tq arm brackets. You can ask anyone who's bracket raced with us and they'll also tell you a good driver in a 6 speed can also be very consistent.
And don't be fooled by stalled auto either. Dad's car has streetstalkers old 4400 Yank in it and it is bad *** from about a 40 roll and he can drive his anywhere us 6 speed guys can, lay down an 11.6x and drive home. Just the same way Steve drove over and ran in Monroe. In fact, I'd like to run Chris from a 40 roll in his car.
On the other hand, my car has slowed .40 tenths with the 4800 stalled th350 vs my 6 speed so the auto>m6 hasn't worked out for me. Mine is going back together tomorrow with the a3 so I can try it out maybe this weekend then i'm going back to the 6 and any one of you autos want to go mod for mod to 11.5? Lets do it
Oh, the aluminum flywheel is a bad idea at the track but shines on the road and in the twisties. You are going to have trouble with bogging at the track and that will be why. It will rev much quicker though
Auto and M6 both have pros and cons. I like em both

This can be a never ending vicious cycle. I have had them both many times. I actually would say that the auto is better at the track and the m6 is better for the street. Its a fun factor i guess and it seems to pull harder on the highway.

Fun factor for sure! I enjoy slapin the auto guys around at bracket racing. The look on their face is priceless when they see they just got schooled by a 6 speed at their own game

Damn it Chris I have been waiting all day for you to get on here. Someone who actually has some real world experiences with racing and not just internet smarts. I have just spanked too many on the freeway to agree with any of that crap. I think someone needs to get on the highway against an equally modded 6spd, that will quiet down some of this talk around here

Yes sir, on the way there, and at the line. Sounds like someone must be "tinkering around" and want a rematch. Next trip for me will be to RRR, I have a few things to attend to

Chris,i'll roll race you in my A4 My old Yank PT4400 was a monster anywhere in the rpm band and that is why im going back with a new Yank but this one will be able to spray nitrous also! I also have a new intake setup that should wake the car up alot more along with a new transmission also.
It will be nice to make some local 1/4 runs again, just hope they don't turn it into a trailor park

I am beginning to hate this a4. I got the pan changed and now have oil pressure again. I filled the trans up and it started to pull so i put it on the ground and nothing happened. As long as its in the air it will pull but only for a few seconds then stops. The only was to get the tires to move after it stops pulling is to turn the car off and restart it. Any ideas on what would cause this?
