If you're gonna buy a new one you might as well upgrade to a 6l80e if you can get your hands on one, and then program it into your computer. I'd say any trouble would be well worth it.

those trans are tricky as are the 4l80s. Cross-members, programming, wiring harness changes, and (i know for the 4l80) a hybrid torque converter allowing it to bolt up which is over a grand by itself. Either way its the expensive way to go.

For you guys that dont know, Ive been working on my car for a while. Swapped out the heads/cam/FAST 90/nitrous setup in favor of a custom spec'd cam, stock 317 heads, stock LS2 intake and a twin turbo kit. On low boost (9psi) the car made 620 RWHP and 535 RWTQ and on the high boost setting (13.8psi) is puts down 768 RWHP and 690 RWTQ. I really dont plan on turning it up more than that. These numbers were made on an "Eddy Current" loaded dyno in 98* heat and are SAE corrected. On the cooler nights and fall time, it will probably be knocking on the 800 rwhp door
Needless to say, Im a pretty happy guy and cant wait to enjoy the car for a while, esp after being down for almost 7 months

anybody going to the track tomorrow? Im debating on it. Saturday morning i have to get up kinda early to go outta town to look at some horses so i dont need to be out all night. I just got my slicks in the other day and ive got my skinnies but no tires. Anywhere local i could snag some tires from for my skinnies? My slicks are M/T ET Drags 28's.

I got my skinny front tires from Gene's Tires on Texas street in Bossier. They are not the cheapest, but they are the best on mounting and balancing. I always take my high dollar wheels to them to do the mounting.

i didnt check the fitment yet. My rears will fit for sure but my skinnies need spacers for the brake calipers. I was just going to run my saleens up front if i was to go tomorrow. What about a 1/4" spacer, does GENE have those too? It'd be nice if i could get the spacer and tires at the same place.
