I was not happy with conditions last night. Track was too cold and damp. Best 60' was 1.73 (.24 worse than prescott last weekend) and my 1/8 was .3 worse. ran 11.0 @ 124 with 1.73 60'. I was having a problem with the spray and only made 1 good pass as I kept blowing fuses. I probably will not be going back to Gilliam, too many bad experiences there. I just wish Prescott was a 1/4. I will have to try and make it out to Crandall (Dallas Raceway), hear they do a really good job there.

It was interesting how they prepped the track a bit after my run where I damned near put it into the wall. *Got that on video*
Seems there was huge miscommunication out there last night... with their crews not showing up for work and all. Still enjoyed myself, though.

When the weather conditions were like last night(see dew on the roof of your car), it doesn't matter what they do to the track. When the sun goes down the track will go away, that's just how it is I don't care if it's Prescott, Ennis, Memphis or wherever.
No track personnel could prep a track like Hallsville and every year when this time of year rolled around you could forget about hooking up at night. That is why they start racing during the day time about this time of the year. Last week at the NMCA LS shootout they had the same problem. Just how it is trying to race at night when it's getting cold. And just for the record, I'm not making excuses for TRRP, because they have rubbed me wrong lots of times, but the track hooking last night wasn't their fault.

Oh of course, the traction issue is completely understandable. Actually, I was quite impressed with the hook I was getting on those street tires. Nice burnout with a 2,500rpm clutch slip produced no bogging whatsoever, and very moderate spin. As long as I heated 'em up sufficiently, she got out the hole just fine.
One thing I did differently before my "mishap" run, was not heat up the tires long enough. The *** started to slide out during the burnout so I had to let off of it earlier than I wanted to. Sure enough, as soon as I shifted into 2nd after the launch, I damned near became a statistic.

My bud Tony got a new best 13.48 in his 99 T/A convertible, not bad for a all stock car on street tires. His old best was something like a 13.75, sure saw alot of good times and good friends last night. Yes the track was going away as the night went on, but what could we expect with all the rain that has come our way for the last month. I made one pass in Tony's car and was very surprised at how good the track hooked on street tires. The timer did not work on my pass, but over-all I think the track was in good condition.

I'm really wondering why they have moved us to New Orleans, think we should tell them we are up here in the Ark-La-Tex. I think LS1tech should have a Louisiana Section, we are no where need New Orleans (hell they think we are yankees up here).
