shreveport/bossier hang out!
Decided to build my own short block. 6.0 iron block, 408 fully forged rotating assembly, balanced. Other than correctly boring the block, what else do I need for the assembly and swap? The

If you are asking this question then you don't need to attempt this. Let a qualified machinist build your rotating assembly.
i got a few things i'm looking to sell if anyone is interested... UMI bolt in tubular subframe connectors $140, and full set of front and rear Biltstein HD shocks $390, both unused.
also looking to get my boxed subframe connectors welded in, tighten up headers and replace my Corsa catback with a SLP LM i got sitting in my appartment. to be perfectly honest, i don't feel like dealing with it myself lol... anyone wanna take care of these things for me? i'll pay you or provide beer or whatever.
also interested in selling that Corsa catback... still have the warranty slip for it so you could prob submit for a warranty like its new... only been used since june of last year. thinking like $800?

They dont charge much to assemble a shortblock, its worth it IMO. Thats one of the most pricey things in your entire car if you have a failure relating to improper assembly.

I had all my machine work done on mine then i put it together, the machinist will need your Pistons, Rods, Rings, Crank.... let them get the bearings and install them for ya and assemble the rods to the pistons, gap rings, install cam bearings in the block along with crank bearings.....you can even choose to gap your own rings if you want...I have a book i used to double check everything and how to do it too!! Only reason i went this route is because i was new to LS style motors and wanted to know the ins and outs of it.....If you want some help assembeling it i will gladly help you, i have a nice clean ac/heated shop for it to sit in while you get your parts together and the time to do it
Haven't been around much lately but a GREAT woman and a new project will do that.
This was my Harley when I first got it in december 2010:
Now it looks like this:
I raked it 5* which dropped the front approximately 2" and then I powder coated the triple trees and lower tubes. New exhaust, license plate relocation. I did a Wide Glide conversion basically with some added touches.
Now I'm getting back on the car very soon. New hood, clutch, and 9" are in the works along with a new paint job this winter hopefully. Maybe some other stuff
