Extremely similar. I had to go back to a stock tranny tune on that one and start making adjustments from there to get that thing right. There were some tranny tuning tables that were completely missing from that tune when I started. I couldn't find another tranny tune anywhere close to the way that one was. Not sure what the intent was with the tune it had, but it took me a couple of days to get the tranny right. The engine was easy...only took about 45 minutes to have it dialed in.

All that has to happen is the 6L80 tables have to be removed and the 4L80 tables installed on the factory TCM. It can be done with HP Tuners.

You gonna email me your current G8 tune so I can adjust it and send you back a "start up" tune?

Typically, only two things cause the problem. IATs and Knock. Even though iats may not register as hot or you don't see kr registering, it doesn't mean that it's not there. If the timing comes back up from 11 to 14 as the pull happens, I would just make it dump fuel into the motor just a hair sooner or faster. I wouldn't sweat it if it stays at 14, and you don't see any kr, that just means it thinks the iats are just a tad too warm. Now, if it goes from 14 down to 11 and sits around 11, then I would start making some fueling adjustments, or let the iats cool off, because it is definitely sensing either knock or iats. As Chris said though it could be false knock. (vibrations in the motor or drivetrain that the computer thinks is knock....check for exhaust vibrations).

Hilton, congrats on the car man! I swear, if I showed you pictures of how mine looked when I first bought it, it would look exactly like that one (Minus the coupe vs FRC). Same wheels, BSM's, etc. etc.

I'll be anxious to get mine fixed so we can go cruise

Now I'm having oil pressure issues. Waiting in traffic this morning, it kept dropping into the red, causing the light to come on. When I would drive, it would go back up over 20. I haven't changed anything. WTF?

Three things you should check.

1. Oil loss? (oil level)
2. Oil filter might be getting clogged.
3. Oil pump and line for STS Turbo.

Let us know.

I would start with an oil change with a GOOD filter and work from there.

Todd it ended up being burst knock is all i can find, i pulled the burst knock table and then got some real knock in neutral with some little revs.....I get ahead of myself and dont stop to think about the basics.....(Pull Timing or add fuel) lol..... I will end up giving you my money for a good tune in the long run here soon, when the trees decides to sprout some haha. The iats when it was pulling timing the other day were under 100 degrees, which made me think well i did just put a cage in and solid motor mounts...That should have giving me a clue then but like i said i get ahead of myself, Thanks

No pressure issues after work. Oil level and sts system are fine. Seems like it only drops in cooler weather. It also surges strange under boost in cold weather. I'll see how it does tomorrow.

Don't always go off the factory gauge. Oil sending unit could be bad or gong out. Mine never gets below 40 in heat but sometimes it will shake some

Glad you were able to find it. Sometimes tuning can get intense, so I always have to remind myself of the basics.

Really sounds like an oil change issue then. Not sure about your surge under boost (in cold weather) without scanning it. Could be because it was tuned 100+ degree temps so your timing would back down a bit under higher iats. Now, your timing might be fluctuating since there's cooler air (giving you a little more power). You can always pic a day and bring it back over here to me so I can check it out for ya.

Yep, factory gauges and factory sending units are not reliable at all.
