LSX Shootout Class
I voted 9.00-9.99 It should be a 8.50-9.0 by then but who knows, it may slow down with my luck.
I hope this all works out, I REALLY want to be able to justify spending 2K to go run in 1 race. If there isn't a N20 class that my car fits into then I won't be able to.
I do know the black camaro eastside was running that went 8.9 before I started running mine was about 150 lbs lighter then my car is right now, that car made about 150 less motor hp then my sled does, and with about 400 to 450 worth of nitrous (depending on what calculator you go by) did it.
Car gets 300 lbs lighter, it will be roughly 150 lbs lighter then the black car was, still make 150 more motor hp then the black car did, add a fogger and total the hit up between the plate and the fogger to 400 worth it should be there, leave the 65 jet in the plate and put a 34 in the fogger.
Until the # is on the timeslip it's irrevelant ricer math though.
When your car went 8.9 what did it weigh, what did it make for motor hp and what were you hitting it with jet wise?

First ever 8.93 pass i was 3600 and a 2 X 72 plate that was 152 mph. 8.91 pass it was to rich but went 157 on a worse 60' it was 3400 82 on both plates. but the tune was dead wrong on that setup. We should have been able to go 8.6 with that setup but what we learned on my car we now use to make atv's go faster.
I don't know what you were making for motor hp at the time, but I can't imagine it was much different then where I'm at (makes 460 with about 16 degrees of timing in it, so take anther 20 away when we pull some more)
You tell me, with what you were making for power and what you were spraying when the car was 3400, what would it have done with 400 lbs out? I'm sure it would have gone a hell of alot faster, making the possibility of a 8.9 pass out of my sled not out of the realm of possibility. Might eat itself up the first pass, but with Ken's help I think it will be in good shape.

What size is your cam?
Shiz made over 500 on a mustang dyno.
I'd say you have a good shot at 8's. So go do it and you wont have to speculate.
I'll be tinkering with it all summer, end of the season I might get it out for a couple test hits with both kits before the mtor gets torn down to get freshened up.

And that's the problem John. It's obvious that some guys will be left out of the mix. We can't create a class for every car in every e.t. range as it will do nothing but dilute the fields. E.T. cap? Index? I don't think so, not for a heads-up eliminator.
We want an exciting class which will be fun for the fans to watch which will also be attractive to racers.
One thing for sure -- we learned last year, with the truck class, that what we see on the net does not in any shape or form translate to reality.
I'd sure like to see timeslips to back up all the 8-second cars which have suddenly fallen out of the sky.
We'll see what happens. Stay tuned.
if i was going to make it, id be looking for a 8.5 class. this season i think i'll be in pretty good shape to run 8.50's with my car, i will not be going faster because im not planning on doing my cage over right now.
so 8.50 would be my vote.
I offered them my car if they needed one last week to go to the race with, hopefully they will either finish their car, or take me up on the offer and take mine.
and thats with last years set up. im going to guess its be more 8.9-0.0 with 100 hit this year.
we'll see.
if i had someone to trailer it for me, i would fly in for it, i just cant take the time off, not only that, work sucks so time off isnt easy

Now hurry up and get the rules done so I can make hotel reservations.
