Default spray the 305TPI

I am planning to spray a 100-125 wet kit on my 87Z28 305 TPI. Anybody had this kinda setup before, any serious safety suggestions to keep from scattering this engine, it is my daily driver with 130,000 on it. Thanks

I would upgrade the fuel pump to make sure it has sufficient fuel and use 93 octane. 130x is alot of miles but what do I know. I put a 200 shot on a stock 350 tpi with 122,000 miles and it held up for 2 years.

I often run 94 Octane anyways, and I replaced the factory pump with another stock one from CarQuest about 2-3 months ago. Is 93 a good grade to use w/spray or something? or should i still use 94. how often did u spray ur 350TPI?

This sounds like a great recipe for heartache if the following apply to your situation:

1) You don't have another back up vehicle to use.
2) You can't afford to replace the engine or serious breakage quickly.

If they don't, then I say go for it.

The only way i would do a wet shot on a TPI is with a plate kit. I had a dry shot on my 305 and never had a problem with it. Use a dry kit with a vacuum dump on the fuel regulator and you will be gtg as long as the fuel pump can keep up. A FPSS is a MUST! Fuel pressure gauge would be ideal as well.

I had a buddy that has the same set up back in the day with a simple wet system and he had alot of fun with that car. We have a custom switch panel for your car as well.

I was wanting to go with the "powerfogger EFI Wet Kit," but, don't know if this is exactly what I NEED/or really want to do. I just really want to attempt to spray the car as safely as possible(slow *** 3rd gen TPI) . And BTW I do have a 91 Ranger if the engine blows, as well as an 87 TBI 350 in the garage. thanks.

i had a kit on my 91 z28, stock 305 tpi with headers/exhaust/gears. i sprayed 150 shot all day long on that thing. Probably put about 50 bottles through it without any problems. just make sure you are using your safety gear (window switch/WOT switch/fpss switch/ pressure guage)

Yup!! You talking about me, right?

I had had '91 305 with a plate setup. Still had the stock long block with a cam only and ran a 125 shot through it for at least 3 years with somewhere between 100K-120K miles on the clock. You definitely need a FP regualtor and safety switch and a gauge would be nice for convenience.

I was able to run some 12.4s on MT Sportsmans with the factory 10-bolt and some gears.
