if you want to take the chance of getting some kind of debris out of the bottle, through the line and stuck in the solenoid thats your choice. i say get the filter.

If the place that filling your bottles filters then nitrous before putting it into your bottle then you don't have to much to worry about. If they aren't filtering the nitrous then i would put on there no questions asked.

Regardless filtered or not they are a nice safety item to have.

Nothing is worse than a stuck solenoid because debris got stuck on the plunger. I recommend them for sure.

I guess expensive is in the eye of the beholder. Mine cost about as much as 10lbs of N²O I finally bought one when I could get a discount.

Where does the nitrous filter go on the kit itself?

As close to the bottle as you can get.

For those reading along. If you have a new style Nitrous Outlet solenoid you will notice all our solenoids have a screen filter in the inlet port of the solenoid to help prevent trash from making it in the piston chamber.. For those who do not have our new style solenoids we offer inlet fittings with the screen in it. This in conjuction with a nice filter at the bottle offers the safest prevention.

Do anyone have any pics of the filter mounted? I am using the HSW tunnel mount bracket.

I think the biggest risk is from debris coming out of the refill station. It's important to ask the supplier to see their filter.
