Default Labor rates to install NOS in 4th gen

Have a friend that wants me to install a NOS dry kit on his 2000 TA. Curious what most shops are charging for labor on a nitrous install. Thanks!

Man since its a bud I would just figure what you need to make it worth your wild to do it. I dont think shops are allowed to post up prices on labor.

Yeah I can see how it might be against the rules here. Just want to give him some appreciation of what it costs. I usually do most of his installs for free but I need to start charging a little for the wear and tear on my tools. lol Thanks

not a lot to a dry kit, prices would def depend on what the kit consists of.......bottle opener, heater, purge, gauges etc. just see how many hrs it takes and multiply it by 75-90/hr which is about what shops charge and thats about how much itd cost.

I honestly forget what we used to charge...I think it was around 400 for the kit + 100 per accessory or something like that.

I charge beer and pizza. But, I also only work on my buddies stuff if they are going help/learn for them selves.

But, since you do not have fixed or variable overhead. I would say if he is your buddy 100 dollars is fair charge to me.

For a plate/single nozzle/MAF setup I charge $250.00 Obviously extras cost more and so do Direct ports.

I did plumb a direct port once for a local machine shop for $200.00 Think he made some money off of me?

Admin. don't get your panties in a wad, I'm not advertizing. I wouldn't work on these guys **** if they wanted me to.

Not!

Food and drinks and let them learn/help a little here as well. Never know when you will need them to help you out with something. What goes around comes around is my thinking.

I usually have so much going on with my own junk, i will have people come over and give them help. This usually consists of me guiding them in the right direction, then getting back to my stuff.

Its kind of like what we have in the air force. 3 level, 5 level, and 7 levels. The 3 level needs you there, holding their hand every step of the way, 5 levels only need help on the hardest parts, and are otherwise good to go. 7 levels basically are your system experts, amd check up on the other levels to make sure everything is good. Luckily most of my friends are in the 5 level range. Lol. If they are a 3 level, I charge beer!

Buddies are different, usually they buy me lunch and a can or two of Red Bull LOL.

They do the same for me. Well, the ones that can anyway. The ones that can't do mechanical stuff help out in other ways. I have some really good friends that help out quite a bit. Everything from towing my car if I need it to staying up all night trying to help me get ready for a race.

If he is a buddy just have him help you with something. My buddy helped me install my kit and I gave him help tearing up his lawn and installing a sprinkler system. You scratch their back they scratch yours.

I work on my neighbors and friends cars for a little cash (typically $20 a job), and beer while doing the job. If I have to buy anything, I give them the receipt and they cover that, such as parts and supplies.

Whats odd is I like helping my friends out more so than working on my own car!
