i just didnt want to spend $10,000 putting it back together.
needs $4,000 heads
$1,200 rods
$1,000 in maCHINE WORK TO CLEAN IT UP, NEW CAM BEARINGS POLISH CRANK RE BALANCE ETC ETC
$1,000 IN MISS BEARINGS, GASKETS ETC ETC
$1000 DRIVE SHAFT (THE ONE I HAD MADE IS CHEEP, NO WAY IT WOULD HOLD 1,000 PLUS RWHP)
I TOSSED THIS TOGETHER TO GET OUT RACING A COUPLE TIMES AND TAKE THE CAR TO SOME SHOWS I WILL DO THE 427 UP WHEN TIMES ARE BETTER AND I CAN JUSTIFIE SPENDING THE COIN.
**** sorry for cap lock. i cant type for **** at my house computer and my lap top is in my truck.

Looking good Nozyee. Good to see that thing back in action. I remember seeing that car 4 or 5 years ago at NED I believe at camaro/firebird day. I was there racing my SS for the first time with slowhawk and his crew. I thought to myself what a badass ride man. Congrats and you should bring that thing on down here to PBIR (Moroso) and make some hits. LOL

thanks guys.
this car has a serios history. i bought it new at 19 years old off the show room floor.
wanted to run 13's and did so first pass out.
i started help invent free mods and messing around and had it in the low 12s
i then twin turbo'd the car with the help of speed inc and ended up going 10.6 with it which is still impressive in the 6 speed world and this was back when forced induction was pretty new.
i then built a 346 for the car and ended up getting the stock cube record that held for years. 9.40
i then proceded to shoot for 8's so i went nuts. totaly re wired the car removed everything i wanted and went nuts. bumper suports are all still in just lightedn up.
bult a 402 for it and hurt a pistion do to a bad injector running 9.0!! doh
i then built a 427 lsx for the car and got her running mid 9's on motor and 8.7's on 200 shot (might have been 250, id have to look back) i ran the lsx for 2 years and was getting fed up. between craked afr heads and blown rear gears and all the money etc etc. one day at the track it was 100* out and i qualified real good for the 8.50 class. plan was to jet up a tad and go for it. i was sitting in the car wet dripping from sweat another car broke. i said.
"thats it, im done"
fired the car loaded it up, went home
next week i got a boat and that was it. i pulled the motor took out alum rods (over 100 passes) sold the heads and the car has sat the last 2 years
sitting in the garage a couple months ago looking at my pride and joy collecting dust, i stepped back started looking at stock intgernal records and thought. i think i can beat that esp with my car set up so well, i found the motor, got a set of stock ls6 heads free dual valve spring put rod bolts in it and went racing.
thats it.
digging the boat out tomorrow so chances are good the car wont see the track again till fall, but she is up and running and i can drive it to shows etc and have fun.
the car 60' a 1.37 and didnt even lift the tires. and with a 10.x air fuel im sure this car has a 9.7 atleast in there with 100 shot.
next time out i will run once or twice with 100 shot see what she will do, then put 200 to her and see if i can get the record.
specs on the car.
about 3100-3200 pounds race weight
neal chance th 400 with t brake
neal chance 4,xxx stall (its the old one i used with my 427. in that it was 4500 ish this motor dont have the power. lol)
3.73 gears, spool 33 spline
full suspention
12 pt cage
full custom dash etc
motor is a stock 346 all stock internals. i put rod bolts in it (spun it to 7,300 rpm last night) stock ls6 heads, vic jr noyzee ported, carb style t body, 42 pound injectors, 2" kooks with 3 1/2 exhaust.
the car started pulling at about 5500 rpm lol thats why i reved it so high

It's a big frickin website & a lot of these records are used by the magazines also.
I have a friend who has the quickest NA LT1 running on a stock computer record, he's had it for years, in fact he's running an LS1 now, but he still keeps track of the record. That record was also quoted in Hotrod & that seems like a pretty obscure record to me.
