Thumbs up Update, times within:Junk yard Dawg is done!! racing tonight!!

ffinished it compleat last night. put a very base tune it\n it, no drive time at all, but she idles good. lol we shall see how it goes.
this car is basic, very basic. its built with used parts, junkyard parts and parts i had laying around.
im into it for $2100 bucks and i have stock heads to sell and a few other things.
stock ls6 heads with used dual springs (no idea what kind) stock block with all stock internals. i didnt even pull a cap to check bearings.
vic jr intake with 4 brl carb style t body 2" race headers. lol both make power about 6000 rpm and i will be revving to 6800. lol
we shall see how she goes. very small cam as well.
227/235
if the track lets me run slicks tonight and the car is running good i will hit it with 100 shot just to see how she runs.
chute is still on the car because its a ball buster to take off. first maybe 12 sec car with a chute. lol
we shall see.
no dyno, no street time. home she makes it. hehe

heading out in about 1 hour.

that car looks mean, and those are some awesome numbers esp. considering the money you have in it. Would be interested in finding out more details on the car (trans, rear, gears, weight, etc)

while i dont want to speak for the owner, i have known of this car for a long time (we are both old school on this site). this car has a LOT of time, energy and money invested into it. it just has a cheap motor for now.

Pretty sure he had a 427 with a decent size shot running 8.7's thats why the car had a chute on it...

op, 9's is insane for for a 2100 motor, excellent work!!

thanks guys.
this car has a serios history. i bought it new at 19 years old off the show room floor.
wanted to run 13's and did so first pass out.
i started help invent free mods and messing around and had it in the low 12s
i then twin turbo'd the car with the help of speed inc and ended up going 10.6 with it which is still impressive in the 6 speed world and this was back when forced induction was pretty new.
i then built a 346 for the car and ended up getting the stock cube record that held for years. 9.40
i then proceded to shoot for 8's so i went nuts. totaly re wired the car removed everything i wanted and went nuts. bumper suports are all still in just lightedn up.
bult a 402 for it and hurt a pistion do to a bad injector running 9.0!! doh

i then built a 427 lsx for the car and got her running mid 9's on motor and 8.7's on 200 shot (might have been 250, id have to look back) i ran the lsx for 2 years and was getting fed up. between craked afr heads and blown rear gears and all the money etc etc. one day at the track it was 100* out and i qualified real good for the 8.50 class. plan was to jet up a tad and go for it. i was sitting in the car wet dripping from sweat another car broke. i said.
"thats it, im done"
fired the car loaded it up, went home
next week i got a boat and that was it. i pulled the motor took out alum rods (over 100 passes) sold the heads and the car has sat the last 2 years

sitting in the garage a couple months ago looking at my pride and joy collecting dust, i stepped back started looking at stock intgernal records and thought. i think i can beat that esp with my car set up so well, i found the motor, got a set of stock ls6 heads free dual valve spring put rod bolts in it and went racing.

thats it.
digging the boat out tomorrow so chances are good the car wont see the track again till fall, but she is up and running and i can drive it to shows etc and have fun.
the car 60' a 1.37 and didnt even lift the tires. and with a 10.x air fuel im sure this car has a 9.7 atleast in there with 100 shot.
next time out i will run once or twice with 100 shot see what she will do, then put 200 to her and see if i can get the record.

specs on the car.
about 3100-3200 pounds race weight
neal chance th 400 with t brake
neal chance 4,xxx stall (its the old one i used with my 427. in that it was 4500 ish this motor dont have the power. lol)
3.73 gears, spool 33 spline
full suspention
12 pt cage
full custom dash etc
motor is a stock 346 all stock internals. i put rod bolts in it (spun it to 7,300 rpm last night) stock ls6 heads, vic jr noyzee ported, carb style t body, 42 pound injectors, 2" kooks with 3 1/2 exhaust.
the car started pulling at about 5500 rpm lol thats why i reved it so high
