Default Is constant pressure hard on selonoids?

New to nitrous. it's installed and now tuned. My question is: Is constant pressure hard on the selonoids? I drive 100mi. roundtrip to work. Is it okay to open the bottle before I leave home to go to work, and vice versa to have it on standby incase I might need it? So it would be on pretty much 2 hrs. a night. Would that wear out the noids quicker?

DOnt do it! IT does put a lot of stress on the noids and will put more wear and tear on them.

If you live in KC its to hot to leave a bottle in your car all day. I did that one time and it went to 1400 thank god I caught it and open the bottle and let some pressure out. The bottle pressure will go in the red and blow off your blow off vavle if you leave it in there.. To answer your question it is hard to live the pressure on your noids for long periods of time. I always drain my line whenever I get done racing.

thanks for the response guys. I will not leave constant pressure on them. I'll only use it when I need it. and purge off the pressure when Im done. I have a gauge in the car I will keep an eye on it when I do run the heater. It's suppose to be a auto-heater, that goes by pressure instead of bottle temp. But I'll prob. just use the Nitrous when I go to the track. Thanks for the info guys.

About leaving the bottle in the car, I have mine in the trunk, and I have checked the pressure after leaving it in the car on a 90 degree day, and the pressure only showed 1,000psi. on the bottle gauge, but I will keep a eye on it. I work overnights, and the car spends it's days in the garage.

Sounds like the thing you need is a bottle opener. I mean your not wasting much but you are wasting nitrous buy opening it and purging the main line out. Do this about 10 times and itll add up. I pick up an NX opener for my car and love it. Push it to open and close and your done.

If you left it on all day then it would be a NO NO, but for what you are wanting to do there will be no problems.

If you have a remote bottle opener then why not just open the bottle when you decide your ready to spray i dont understand why youd open it right when you leave the house?

I could do that. But I wanted to keep an eye on my pressure/bottle heater. No use just running the heater and not knowing the pressure. Or have it get to high or just open it when I need it and the pressure be too low.damn now that I think about it I should move my nitrous gauge plug to the bottle. That way I can monitor the temp right at the bottle.instead of reading my temp at the line that goes to the selenoid.

^^^ there ya go. move the gauge to the bottle so you can read it closed. No wasted nitrous, no pressure on the noids, and you can still be ready whenever.

^^I agree, that's the move to make. I can't remember who sells them but I know somebody makes a Y fitting that screws into the bottle and has a port for your N2O pressure gauge sender and another one for your bottle heater's N2O pressure switch. I've been trying to remember who makes them for the last couple of days since I'm looking for one at the moment.
