Default 150 shot real world jetting?

Hey guys, my kit should be finished this week and I will be spraying a 150 hit through a Nitro Dave ls1 specific plate kit. I know the recommended jetting is n62 and f38. I have been told by almost every member I talk to that the 38 will be dead rich. Where should I start and do you have any "real world jetting" for a similar setup as mine with a 150rwhp shot? Car is a cam only 390 rwhp with 255 racetronix and hotwire kit.

I was going to start with a 36 but just wanted to see if someone with a similar setup could get me closer right out the gate. And yes i know every car is different and reacts different, I'm only wanting a starting point that worked good for others.
Thanks,
Andy

use what the kit recommends and if it is dead rich then go from there, It works both ways Ive seen some people use the recommended jets in a kit and end up lean

there are too many varaiables in these situations fuel pump, race gas, timing etc. better to be safe then sorry

x2 ...I was right on at the stock jetting same fuel system you have. Run it then check plugs then change it.

better to be rich than lean. Like said before, start at the recommended jet and go from there.

I'm running a fast 92 w/92 plate and dedicated cell filled with vp109. I had to go down two jet sizes to get my afr to 11.7-11.9. I'm looking for 12.1 so I'm going to try a 3rd jet down, but we'll see how it does.

Try the recommended jets and go from there. Like everyone says better to be safe.

Thanks for the replies, I totally understand the differences between cars like I stated in the OP. I guess I'm trying to take a short cut that at this point appears unlikely. I have no problem putting in the wrench time to get it right, it's just that I thought someone with a similar setup might run across this.

Any other view points will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for the help!

Nitrous is something that you do not want to take short cuts with. Study up on how to read the plugs and you'll be fine. FWIW I run a 36F on my 200 shot(72N), but I'm using a Harris Plate.

^^^^Agree on the plug reading, I've read hours and hours on reading plugs and tuning with nitrous before installing the kit. Thanks for the advice.

So on a 200 shot your using 2 jet sizes smaller than my recommended 38 for my 150 shot? Looks like plug reading is my starting point, LOL!

Im pretty sure my hsw wetkit called for a .035 fuel/ .062 N. When I went to the track with my tuner, it was pretty lean, we ended up putting a .038 fuel jet in it, and it helped alot. I guess it depends on the car.

I'd start with the 36... make a pass and read the plugs. It'll probably end up with a 34, maybe even a 32...

31, what? I know your car is flying! I just hope I can get it tuned up right in order to do the same. A 10.xx anything right now would be great

ATV, I see where you post alot about reading plugs. My question is this, so if I'm looking for a full turn of soot on the threads how will I know how rich is too rich. Ex. If the soot travels greater than a full turn? Just trying to simplify the plug reading as much as possible.

You have to look at the porcelian (sp) also for the fueling,
you want about 1/8th-1/16th inch line at bottom of it.
