Default first time with nitrous. m6 car

im planning on buying the lt1 specific plate system from nitous outlet here in a couple months. iv never used nitous before and am curious what else im gonna need. im not sure how much to spray yet. im thinkin around a 200 shot. my motor is all forged and gapped for nitrous. (i was just gonna hand the jets to my tuner and tell him keep going till its not safe and back it off 1) am i doing this right or what? what else do i need to get?

That kit will have what is needed to simple Hook it up and spray. For a 200 shot a bottle heater would be a pretty worthwhile investment. You shouldnt have problems with a 200 shot on the built motor provided as you say they are the gaps and pistons are application correct.

I would be happy to go over your setup even if you decide to stay with the NO kit. Everyone at NX for the most part has a car and wrenches so were always happy to go over a build or help with install. Good luck on everything, Let me know if you need anything.

With the motor being forged and gapped for nitrous i wouldn't hesitate to hit it with 200hp so your thinking right there. Other than the system i'd suggest getting a Bottle heater, FPSS ( Fuel pressure safety swtich ), N20 Gauge, paired with some sort of window switch.

Have you upgraded the fuel pump in the vehicle?

yea the fuel pump has been upgraded to a racetronix 255 and hotwire kit so i think im ok there.

i forgot to mention, i do want it do be safe bacause this car is my daily driver and my only car. the motor was built by golen. iv talked to them and they assure me the rings wer gapped for nitrous. although he couldnt tell me what the gap was exactly. the motor was built about 5 years ago. im suprised they had any record of it at all. im wondering how much bigger of a shot i could go and still be safe.

would the bottle be ok sitting in the back of my car in the heat? it gets up over 100 here alot. should i buy a heater that also cools? i dont plan on having the bottle in all the time. just in case. would it be worth it to get a timing controller like lingenfelters?

With not knowing the actual gap of the rings i'd stick to 200hp level and call it a day. As long as the bottle ins't in direct sunlight you should be fine but on the really hot days i'd take the bottle inside or put it somewhere that would be a little cooler than the car. Unfortunately the lingenfelter controller wont work for an LT1 application.

He could buy a bottle blanket also to keep it a bit cooler in the car. I bought one because it works but is also very good looking!

To add to what Chris said I would get a mallory685. It will upgrade the ignition spark, provide the windowswitch, and a way to remove timing when the nitrous activates.

The racetronix system will easily be good for 650 rear wheel hp at 45 psi.

A 200 shot is nothing to sneez at one the street. The torque from a properly designed system on a lt1 is awesome. Should be fun trying to hook up.

Like AC Hotrod said a bottle blanket helps but I would not leave the bottle in the car in this extreme heat. Venting the windows would be a must and keeping it out of direct sun light. The back glass acts like a magnifing glass. If mounting on the rear deck maybe a sun visor to reflect the sun would help..
(Have not tried it)

You will love our LT1 plate system. There is not another system on the market that can compare to the quality and proven power the kit safely makes. No other company has put the amount of R&D we did into the LT1 platform than us. Thats why our LT1 system is so killer and we are the best company for technical advice.

is the mallory 685 reliable enough for daily use? is it affected by heat as much as a 6al? only 650 huh? when its all said and done, im lookin at 750 rwhp. is there a bigger pump thats easy to upgrade the racetronix kit to to support this much power reliably?
