Default My nitrous is pissing me off

So i have been fighting and fighting my nitrous I NEVER had a problem with my lastsetup. Ok this is whats up i used to have it on the rail running a HSW 90mm ls3 plate kit and a 150 shot 62n 35f i believe. Pulling 6 degress through my lingenfelter 2step and timing retard box problem was i had it jetted all the way down to 24 f and it was still rich and popping afr all over the place afr down by 11.3 10.8 ya bad. And then my walbors pump shot the **** so i decided to build my standalone and put a new racetronix pump in the tank for just on motor and run off the standalone so i don't burn up another pump. So no my standalone homemade holly blue pump low psi so i'm running a 62n and 55f at 6psi flowing still ran rich and popping , so i put a 46 fuel jet in it ran decent popped and rich in a few areas so i decided to turn the psi down about a half to full turn next pass it was rich as F again ! ! ! ! i cant figure out whats going on. I know its not the nitrous line i crossed it with another one. Only other options could be the plate is messed up or the silnoid . What do you guys think ? ??

I think your having a Solenoid issue....could be trash in the Nitrous noid and its stopping the flow of nitrous simulating the rich condition

Have you disassembled your solenoids? Check 'em out. What kind of AFRs are you getting? Sounds like maybe your nitrous solenoid may be stuck closed.

no the nitrous noid opens and closes when power is put to it. I just put my old fogger nozzle on it just now and i'm about to go out and test it to elimate the plate being the issue if it still does it i have another silnoid to try to see if thats the problem. Will update soon.

Ok put the old fogger in and it didn't change it still rich and popping even after turning the psi down on the fuel to 4psi with a 55f and now a 65n jet. don't have a n20 filter bottle pressure yes between 900-1050 of course . My plate doesn't have a spray bar its a HSW plate has holes all the way aroun. So now i'm wiring up a new nitrous noid and putting it back on the plate with a 65n 55f at 6psi flowing and gonna see what it does.

Ok put a different nitrous silnoid in it just took it out I had it setup with a 65n 55f at 6psi tried it ran like *** rich again 11.3 popping sputtering ***. So i put in a 46 f jet tried it again a little better turned it down to 4 psi. Tried it ran pretty damn good only a couple pops when it was rich when it shifted afr is rich right when it shifts so then i was happy tired it again like 5 min later and COMPLETE *** again. all over the place ! I can't figure out for the life of me WTF is going on. So now i have elemited the nos noid, the main line, the plate because i have swapped with all different stuff. WTF is going on guys.

How do you have your noids grounded? A bad ground could be causing the nitrous noid to pop open and closed. I'm just throwing ideas out there for you.

Ok well i put a 35 fuel jet in with a 65 nitrous. Sense it was still rich and this helped out bunches. now its running decent. Its down close to 12.0 afr. And sometimes 11.5 around the shift and pops a little. I think part is due to the na tune and not being the smoothest so thats why it kinda pops at random rpm's. But putting that small fuel jet in helped ALOT. What i don't get is how can i run such a small fuel jet with such low psi fuel with my standalone and still a large nitrous jet and not be rich. is my car na tune have that much fuel into it. On motor its around 12.5 afr and runs great.

both nitrous and fuel grounds are wired together and hooked to the body.

Try swapping out the relay. the solenoids sometimes burn out the contacts. Some use diodes to combat this. I have had this happen to me. Whats apparent is the relay will throw a charge back to the relay after it deactivates. Also high psi for an extended period will screw it up the noid as well. Good luck with the gremlins..

The first thing you need to do is get the tune on the motor right. How are you determining that it's rich? Looking at plugs or a wideband?

Wideband watching it. And motor is good it just probably seems like its jumping all over the place because the motor tune isn't the smoothest.

First off are you running off the supplied jetting for the plate?? If so that jetting is setup for high pressure and you are using low pressure on the dedicated. Second I assume that your setup is a dead head style becasue of the regulator used and not a return style setup up correct??
